Another question I have. If used for business only. Worth looking at leasing something?

Or just outright buy an older vehicle?

I like the idea of a box truck, but at the same time it would be a pain to drive for other things when I don't need the full thing. Like when going out for training or picking up smaller supplies/runs. Easier to track all usage and mileage on one vehicle than it would be for use my car for some and a truck for others.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Cheap enough I can throw a couple grand at it if need be and still be cheaper than most other things I can find.

Remove lift, throw cheap cat on it, not sure about 4x4 but wouldn't need it all the time anyway.

Honest question.

8.1 worth the hassle of finding over the 6.0? Everyone I see online who has had both really prefer the 8.1, especially because the allison is such a better transmission for towing.

But for every 8.1 I see there are 100 6.0 it seems.

I can't compare the 8.1 to the 6.0. what I can say is the 8.1 truck I used to tow my parents old boat once hauled it like it wasn't even there. The same boat really bogged down my old Sequoia.

Also if you will be towing in the mountains you want the good towing transmission. It makes a bigger difference than the engine IMO.

I'd rather have the 6.0 but I think the Allison advantage outweighs the engine disadvantage

Interested to know why you’d prefer the 6.0 over the 8.1.
