Posted about this on another board. It's funny to have people tell me we paid too much because it's old and high mileage and then follow it up by saying we should have bought an old, high mileage Jeep for twice the price.

Jeeps are expensive. it's almost like they're worth more used than new some times.

I can't even imagine the fuel bill for that trip....

How bad mpg we talking here? I averaged 10 in my LJ, 12 in the Mustang, and 15 in the XJ.

Budget truck cost $1000 in fuel from LA towing a trailer too. Gotta be cheaper than that, plus it would be a cool ass road trip.

Mixed thoughts on that over the years. I think I was initially told a hard 'no' on that about a decade ago. About 3 years ago our new manager, who is British, and drank at lunch, kind of made it 'allowed' when we group lunched. At the same time, I heard rumblings that it was actually allowed per the co handbook. (I've never seen this).

About the same time our new CEO is also through bashes for the campus employees with alcohol. Strange. Now, we have another new CEO, newly remodeled building managed by 'Wework' and weekly happy hours at 3:30 Thursdays with beer, wine and usually a mixed drink.

Things have really loosened up around her. Drinks at lunch now? Especially with the younger girls that drink a lot?

Vicodin for pain? It really never kills my back pain fully. But I take it when I'm in really bad shape. Only once over the years has it given me a 'dizzy head' (not high) when I took two a little too close together. My understanding is it usually doesn't get you high if you take it for actual pain. IDK YRMV

I originally got it for dental surgery. It had zero effect for pain or any kind of side effects. I talked to people that said it made them high. Some said it put them to sleep. Others said it made them puke. When I took it I should have just taken a placebo because it did absolutely nothing.

I ended up giving them to a friend that had knee surgery because they actually helped his pain.
