[quote=""Jeff V.""]It was funny to see you roll up at Steve's and start unrolling cords before you'd even said hi

Steve was always a +1-5 MPG trip on the old odo.
And in hybrid mode it's roughly 40-45ish. That MPG was a mix of everything since I owned the car, gas, elec, streets, and hwy.

We debated quite a bit between the volt and the fusion hybrid. In the end the volt won due to the hatchback versatility even though the passenger compartment is a bit more cramped. The electric fusion was not even considered because of the almost non-existent trunk. If my work ever gets its level 2 chargers installed which theyve been promising Ill consider another plug-in vehicle to replace the gen1 volt in another year or two.

Anyone know if this was a 2016-only color combo? It looks
really good.
Real life example here:

No idea but I like it. I wish for the refreshed model they would have made the shifter less intrusive, possibly with an electronic selector knob or something. It makes accessing the storage space behind it very cumbersome.

Looks like you can still get that combination, but you have to option up to the Premier trim. That grey one at Carmax is tempting. I wish it wasn't all the way down in Florida.

I have officially owned this car for over a year now. In that time I have used 90 gallons of gas. Yes, 90. In over 10k miles of driving. I have paid $0 in maintenance as I have a maintenance plan along with a CPO bumper to bumper warranty for another few years yet.
Compare that to the Jeep LJ I had. In that same amount of time I would have had to do a minimum of 3 oil changes, and used over 950 gallons of gas. At about $2.50 a gallon, that is a savings of $2150 alone in gas. Not including oil changes at $30+ each, or other maintenance, such a gear oil changes, transfer case and transmission fluid, + whatever else would break. So to play it safe say about a minimum of $300 a year in maintenance alone.
I pay $30 more a month for the Volt than I did the LJ, or $360 a year. Take that from the $2450 and that is still $2090 more in my pocket along with a warrantied car that I actually enjoy.

What maintenance has it needed under that plan?

Got any idea what it costs to charge this thing? I really have no idea if it's $0.60/day or $6.00/day.

Oil, filter changes, inspections, etc.

Just had the 45k mile plan done today.
I pay about $0.13-0.14 per kWh. It takes about 10-11 kWh for a full charge. I need to charge it 4 nights a week, so about $25 a month.

And that is driving about 200 miles a week. Drive less = charge less.

$25 a month is awesome.

It honestly is a great car. Fits into my life perfectly right now. Comfortable for long hauls. Saving a lot of money. Really only complaint is that sometimes I feel it is too quiet.

Especially when I am angrily passing someone going slow in the fast lane. A loud exhaust would be nice.
Still want to tint the windows and black out some things on it. Maybe I will do that soon.

I have not heard good things about Jeep's "reliability". The ex had a Grand Cherokee that needed a LOT of work in a few short years. Then after everything was fixed she totaled it in a single car accident, probably texting & driving

Off the 4 Jeeps I owned 2 have been good to me. 1 bad. 1 awful. The XJ's were/are great. Mine green one only really needed a new exhaust system as the old one rusted out and the cat got clogged. The red one I still have, in the last 10 years, has only needed a radiator after a rock went through it, a starter, and a battery. Everything else was not "needed" but did it anyway, such as exhaust, suspension, etc. The LJ was reliable enough. Vast majority of problems was from me off-roading it, but there were enough electrical things that kept messing stuff up that enough was enough. The WJ on the other hand was a complete waste. Two engine rebuilds, warped and cracked heads, etc. Total nightmare.
GM for the most part has been good to me. Had trouble with almost every Mopar/Chrysler car I have owned, Toyotas have been hit or miss, Honda almost killed us, and the two Fords I owned I didn't own long enough to really know. My two Chevy trucks were incredibly reliable as have both Chevy cars (currently only own the one GM car now). Time will tell with the Kia Soul, but that is a new car so I assume it will be good to us.

My mom's 2014 Kia Sportage has been really good to her so far. She just bought out the lease on it. It'd be at the top of my list if I was in the market for that kind of car. I really like driving it.

Haven't driven the Soul yet. It is 100% the wife's car. She loves it though. Only complaint she has is that she wishes it had more passing power.

The preconditioning feature has been awesome. Since it has onstar and I have the myChevy app on my phone, I can "precondition" the car so when I go out to it the a/c is already running and the car is nice and cool.
Going in tomorrow for 35% MAXPRO Carbon window tint on side and back windows then plastidipping the wheels, emblems, and part of the front grille black on Saturday night.

Yeah, I like precondition too... In winter it is especially nice to preheat the interior and the seats while still plugged in.
