Pay for it. Ive done my own body work and its a PITA especially if you know what you are doing. Lots of steps. Pay someone.

I have mixed feelings. I dont care about the fact it is a lot of work. I also like learning and trying new things. But I also dont want to fuck it up to the point I need to end up paying someone else to do it anyway.

I know you've talked about welding, but honestly if you haven't welded before learning to weld for the first time on sheet metal is incredibly difficult. Even with a mig welder it's very easy to burn through the sheet metal.

Bodywork is an art. There is a lot of finite learning you wont get on 1 job.

Look. I’ll try just about anything automotive. I painted my aftermarket hood….and instantly regretted it and paid someone way more to fix it.

Don’t do it. Or at least do it with someone who actually knows and can go behind you and fix whatever.

My neighbor. He painted his dart. His place is where I'd do it. If I do. Still going back and forth

Freaking shocks. Inner fenders came in, so decided to do the front shocks before I put them back on. First one was easy. 2nd one top made it half way then seized up. Have one of the tools that holds the top post, but it ended up rounding off. Soaking in pb blaster overnight. If still doesn't come off I'm going to cut it off.

Have you considered wrapping it instead?

I did. Danielle shot that down immediately. I thought it would be a good idea. Wrap it for now. Then in a few years after we save up more, pay for a good paint job. But she said it's a waste.

Definitely not a waste. It’s what I’m going to do with my stealth. Wraps are good now tha lt a garage kept, taken care of vehicle, the wrap could easily last 8-10 years. It’s like $4-5k for a wrap, and $12-14k for a good paint job.

I could see it being a waste if you pay someone else, but not if you get the materials and try doing it yourself. Start with something small and relatively flat. The trunk lid or something.

Maybe. But for me at least I don't even see it as a waste as wraps have gotten so good now, that for me at least, it's worth saving $8k+ (assuming you have someone do either).

I'm with Aaron.

Also - the first paint option would be crazy.

Trying to convince her.. Still will need the body work side done, but at least save on the paint side for the time being.

New front bilstein shocks in, new inner fenders in, majority of the wiring done. Just need to button up the front and start taping/bundling the wires for a clean look. Then front fenders and valences go on. After that, finish interior, then do rear suspension, diff work, rear brake lives, gas tanks, and a few odds and ends.

That should be it other than exhaust and paint.
