Phew. I made a run for it while they weren't looking and made it back to work in time for donuts. :)

Running from the cops to a place with donuts doesn't seem like the best idea to me.

Factory speakers were shot. The newer head unit is nice, but the car could not handle any volume or bass. Wonder why?

Image

Yes the speakers are only located down in the depths of where your feet reach. Not the best OEM location. Kind of surprised the OEM units are Clarion. Not bad. New units are run of the mill Pioneer. I was tempted to spend more cash, but i read that some people had issues with the rear magnet clearance, so i just stayed on the safe side. Turns out there was plenty of room.

Fits nicely and sounds good. Little high on the treble side and oddly enough the deck doesn't allow for treble adjustment. Go figure.

I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

It was fun. I like most of the stuff James does.

Update:

Been driving this car to work as my daily now for about a week. Luckily its all just surface roads and highways. I don't feel comfortable driving it on the Interstate for the main fact that I would get crushed in any sort of high speed pileup.

Image

I haven't been to a local Cars and Coffee but some random people that I've met just in driving the car insisted that I go, so Sunday I decided I was going to attend. That meant I needed to clean up the car a bit. One of the items I have been wanting to fix were the lightly rusted mesh that goes in the front grill and rear bumper. The boys quickly volunteered themselves for the task.

Freshly painted bits and a good car wax later...

Off to the show. It was funny to watch peoples reaction to the car as I entered the parking lot. You never really know how people will react, but there were a lot of smiles and double takes. I had a small group of guys come over to chat me up about the car, so that was cool. All in all some friends were made and I got to see some good cars.

Had to pick up some items at Walmart. I dread parking there. Its like parking for the Special Olympics.

Surprisingly the Cappo fit easily next to a line crowder.
