This fuel pump thing is starting to piss me off.

I can't find anything regarding flow rates for the OE pumps in the GM trucks. It seems like everyone just says "put a Walbro 255 in it"

I also thought about getting the 2010 FlexFuel capable pump. I don't ever plan to run E85, but it should give me all the capacity I'd need. Only problem with that is, it's nearly double the cost of the 08-09 pump and you can only get it from GM. There are no generics.

I'm just going to put the stock pump in it and deal with it later....if I even actually go through with the engine swap.

You've had enough engine swaps for a while.

I thought this was interesting. 2010 South African model. (They built RHD models in South Africa). Added a tow shackle on the left. Dual exhaust. V8 badge instead of Alpha. Global taillights and reflectors. Ridiculous tires.

Had a somewhat productive weekend.

Got the step boards, radio and backup camera removed from the orange truck. We still need to figure out the wheel situation though. The pressure sensors in the silver truck's wheels are dead. I had hoped it was just a failed relearn, but nope. After an hour of testing I'm convinced they're dead. We don't want to put crappy tires and a tire warning light on the orange truck while we try to sell it. We had a line on a local set of wheels and tires that had been on Craigslist for a couple months now, and now we know why. The guy is completely worthless when you want to actually give him money. So now we're leaning towards just selling it as is and dealing with the tires on the silver truck later.

The step boards don't fit with the rock rails. No big surprise there. I've got an idea to make them work though. That'll be a project for later.

I checked the oil pressure sensor. Looks like that's bad. Add it to the next Rock Auto list.

Gonna need an AC evaporator. The whole seal flange is snapped right off the pipe. How does that even happen? It's only $60, but I'm gonna need to pull the dash to replace it. Fortunately it's not too complicated.

I did actually accomplish something though. I replaced the trashed door hinge bushings. That was a pain in the ass. But the door doesn't flop around any more. I kind of wish I had at least driven it around the block while the door was off. But I was tired and just wanted to get it done.

I'll get the parts ordered and hopefully knock out most of this next weekend. I'd start the fuel tank and dash teardown this week, but Vira wants to take it on a short family outing on Thursday.

Getting a lot done I see. That ac problem is odd.

Someone snag the line when they were working on it before?

So does the Humvee have the option to have just low gear on the rear wheels? If so I bet that’s how we figure out the relay that’s needed.

An actual Humvee, or my truck? Mine is full time AWD. No 2WD at all. Humvee....no clue. But I doubt it's got anything in common with your Avalanche.

I meant your hummer. My bad. Yours is awd? I thought you had selections for 4wd. Maybe that’s an h2 I’m thinking about.

It's full time AWD with hi-lock and lo-lock transfer case modes.

It's like the Ridgeline transmission. Does it disable the rear wheels and cruise in FWD mode too?

Doubt it, since it's got a longitudinal V8. If anything it might disable the front wheels and cruise in RWD mode.

None of that nonsense here. The only way to disable the front or rear axle is to drop the driveshaft. There's even a warning under the hood about doing smog tests on an AWD dyno.

When you put it in 4lo does it lock the center differential or is that a separate button?

Re: That V8 tho...

It's got 3 transfer modes. 4 Hi (normal every day mode) 4 hi-lock (locked center, high speed) and 4 Lo-lock (locked center, low crawler gear). The off road / adventure pack has a 4:1 low range. The regular H3s are 2.64:1.

So it won't do what Coop wants where he can be in 4lo and drive on pavement
