All but maybe 2 people I work with are not "car people" and none of them are at hard core enthusiasts. They just have very different priorities in life. Which is fine. We have two solid incomes, no kids, and very modest expenses. We have the option of toys and travel.

My boss by comparison has 3 kids, and his wife doesn't work. I respect that and honestly wish our society could afford more full time parents.

But it's still a choice. Don't give me shit for mine and I won't give you shit for yours.

Our of curiosity, how many of them whine about taxes? I always find it amusing when public employees bitch about taxes and then in the very next breath complain that they're underpaid.

This actually makes me mad as well. Now that I have a kid, his priorities come first, and he shouldn't get free or reduced lunch (when that time comes), because mommy and daddy want to drive a new car.

Back to the topic at hand though. How was it with the top off? How does it compare to Vira's car with the roof out?

You're right. Enough bitching.

It was good. As far as the amount of light it lets in, it's about the same. A little more wind, but it was decent with the windows up.

I actually think the VR4 roof is easier to get in and out. It's smaller and easier to get into the latches because you can wrap your hands around the edges of it. Even though the roof on the Vette is carbon fiber, it's still got some mass to it, and it's kind of awkward due to the size. I definitely wouldn't want to mess with it in strong winds.

Main complaint about taxes are when we work overtime, they say we get hit harder. Or combine checks we get hit harder as well apparently. I have asked many many times when they complain to tell me how much extra they take out, they never have a response or can tell me...they just repeat it from others. So until one can tell me how much exactly more I don't get all upset. No one really complains about the taxes from a regular check.

Unless there's some weird state or local tax where you live, working OT shouldn't make your taxes worse. You're taxed on how much you earn, total. Not how and when you earn it.

That's what I understand it as well but ithere is no way to get through to them.

If you are talking about year end taxes, not really any complaints. My dad who makes way more than I do and owns his own buisness complains the most of anyone I know.

For some reason, my taxes really don't bother me. I rarely ever think about them. Never have, regardless of how much I made. :d ontknow:

I think it gave a lot more light, and that feeling of 'openness'. I think it's pretty comparable to a convertible feel.

As for the yoga, this was the email she sent the day before yesterday.

I'll start off by saying I hate sending these emails. However, beginning in January, my rate will be increasing to $60/weekly session. The going rate for private sessions in KC is a minimum of $60/hour + travel. Most teachers are asking $75/hour if a client comes to them, or $90-120 if they travel to the client. I know for you this is a 20% increase, but I hope this seems like a reasonable compromise. You've been my favorite client and yoga friend for years and I don't want money to ever get in the way of that. If $60/week is too much, we could look at something like $75 every other week.

But then she did come in the door, go to the restroom, come down the stairs and immediately said, 'What is UP with Jeff buying another car?' I clarified Jeff was not collecting cars and the Audi was being sold.

It was just...interesting timing.

There's a little more to this email than was originally shared with me

I think Coop may have hit it on the head earlier. She was giving Vira a break and now feels ok bumping the price to more typical levels.

A part of me feels for her as I am a coach and I have to talk prices and raise rates and people get upset. Even though its such a small amount (less than a meal) people get upset. Heck right now my swim team keeps getting pushed back on time and our team use to be ALL LITTLE KIDS, but because of this we have lost a lot of paying people. I am having to do a fundraiser on Facebook because they have not paid me for 3 months.....Lets just say thats a lot of money. Now my budgets are made so we will be just fine with out swimming (as coaching is unpredictable) but doesnt mean I dont need that money.

On the bright side, our fund raiser has raised over 3k so thats pretty cool.

Can anyone suggest decent locking lug nuts for this thing? Or are those just a placebo these days?

Meh - if someone really wants your wheels then locking lug nuts won't stop them. Might be a deterrent to some, but if someone really wants to take your precious little vette wheels away from you they will find a way.

I have to agree with what the Duck Man said. I have them on my ST, but only because the dealer put them on (I did not pay for them). It is also really annoying if you want to take a wheel off, because I have to go into the trunk, access the spare tire area, and get the key out.

That's why I asked. I'm just picturing some guy with a bag full of Chinese made keys for every common 'locking' lug.

There are universal tools that will take the locking lugs off no problem. That's how I got them off the Spyder, and it took maybe 5 seconds per lug and didn't scratch the wheels at all. They won't stop a pro, or even a determined hack.

The alarm on the C7 seems fairly sensitive, so that may help when they try to jack it up. Although they'll probably screw up the underside when they jack it incorrectly anyways.

Positive. They were indeed on the window sticker for $99. I however made them take that off the price of the car, since they probably paid all of $20 for them. I also didn’t pay for the “protectant” they put on either. Though I sold he shit out of that stuff when I sold cars
