After owning my Grand Prix, I'll probably not buy anything (at least newer) American again. The Pontiac has been reliable, so I can't knock that part on this car, but damn is the build quality terrible. The wheel wells, inside the trunk, lower part of the engine bay etc, are not even painted body color. The body lines just make you go WTF in a few areas. GM's famous "coolant elbows" found on the 3.8's.

It's not just GM either, I see it on other domestics.

I wouldn't bet on that.

I have never had a single problem with either of my two Avalanches. A 2002 and a 2010. 150,000 miles on the 2002 when I traded it in on the 2010. I think about 50,000 on the 2010 now.

Grand Prix? Yawn.

Yes and no, at least in the 80's the engines were still made out of metal. lol

I would all day. Domestic cars are leaps and bounds better than they were back in the early 2000's. Hell even my dad's 2008 Chevy Malibu has 211,000 miles on it, doesn't leak a drop, and gets 34 mpg.

My Grand Prix is 07, and like I said reliability wise I can't complain too much, but build quality wise you sometimes just go WTF?

Did I mention that C7 Carbon makes some nice accents for the vette?

My 2011 F150 is a solid contender as well. 19mpg and only occasionally needs parts. I think they designed the serpentine idler somewhat poorly on the DOHC 5.0L. Made a mess, but everything else has been pretty solid.

Considering I only put 3500 miles on it last year, that's probably a plug change every other year. But I'm sure a supercharger is probably a much better solution for this car. I think I'd go with a centrifugal supercharger so that the power ramp is gradual instead of a big hit down low. Traction is already a problem leaving the line.

I do have the E85 stuff ready to put on, which should be about 30ish rwhp with tuning. Should probably just bite the bullet and do long tube headers and X-pipe while I'm at it. That's about another 30-35 rwhp. If I'm smart, I'll stop there. But I probably won't stop, and get a supercharger down the road.

Mike, where's the best place for tech info on the C7? I've been lurking around corvetteforum.com. There's some info there, but I get the feeling that the more hardcore stuff happens elsewhere, or they just don't share what they are up to. Also found good tuning info on the HP Tuners forum as far as the E85 stuff goes.

Let me know if you need parts.

While I was thinking "WTF am I going to do with my intercooler setup" on the Spyder, I swapped out the side marker lights for blacked out ones on the Stingray and threw in an Airraid air filter while I was at it. I guess it isn't "stock" anymore now...

Next step: replace the chrome badging with Carbon Flash badges.
