Anyone Bike (Mountain, or Road)?

I have not. I'm not keen on spending that kind of money on a bike just yet. Trail capable bikes are expensive, even used. None of the trails I ride have to crazy if climbs, it is pretty flat here in Kansas.

Re: Anyone Bike (Mountain, or Road)?
I discovered bikejoring through a guy I ran into at the trails. After doing a little more research on the 'sport', I dug around the garage archives and came up with with some parts to make my set up. Several iterations of the leash antenae (a piece of carbon tube from a broken paddleboard paddle), we took to the road. Took Esther a few rides around the block to figure things out (thankfully she's a pretty smart dog, too smart at times), we started hitting my local trail. Aside from the occasional woodland creatures she'd like to chase, she does a great job following the trails. It's quite fun, but I've got to really stay on my toes to keep us both safe.
Short video of us navigating the trail. (I'm still working out the best video set up with my new instapro360)

That is awesome!
Re: Anyone Bike (Mountain, or Road)?
That's actually a great idea. I'm sure she loved traveling at a faster pace than normal human walking speed.

Re: Anyone Bike (Mountain, or Road)?
yeah, I'm definitely the one holding us back...haha.
Strava has clocked speeds of 16mph plus through the woods. We generally average 6'ish mph on our adventures.
One reason I started doing this is because of her boundless energy. We rode for over 7 miles yesterday afternoon and as soon as we got home, she went and fetched her ball for some stair fetch. I hadn't even got out of my riding clothes yet..lol

Dude that's awesome. I think one of my biggest gripes of pet ownership is many "humans" dont get out enough with their pets to let them get the exercise they need. You are allowing your dog to do what many dont get to experience in their lifetime. Kudos to you!

Re: Anyone Bike (Mountain, or Road)?
Thanks, we do include our dogs in a lot more than most. They get to spend about every (every other) weekend at our lake cabin off leash, swimming, running, playing, chasing critters etc. I hear people say, "I wish I could come back as a dog when I die." I wish I could come back as MY dog when I die...
This is how they spend a good portion of the summer.

This is their (our) playground.

Re: Anyone Bike (Mountain, or Road)?
I don't just ride the trails with my pup, I do some solo riding. I do think I'm getting to old for the jumps (even small ones) and should probably take the b-lines...lol
