Re: The MARO
Current running list of things to fix:
Paint/Body Work
tail lights - she wants split bezel design
Radio - sounds good, but factory. Wants to upgrade to one that looks oem but has bluetooth
bell housing dust cover powerglide
Shocks front and rear
Frame bolt bushings - look original and are falling apart - as is most bushings so might do them all.
Transmission leak - slow drip but need to do an good engine and transmission degreasing to see from where. Also a minor oil leak noticed.
Dash vents
Gas tank - doesn't need it, but they are cheap enough. Has some surface rust and a dent. Easy to swap so why not?
Rear leaf springs and shackles
Tilt column - need to add one - probably a direct fit ididit one. Will also need to get a rag joint rebuild kit
Steering wheel - so many options - ugh - lol - right now it has a cracked 16" one. Probably going to look at getting a 14" one, but she has specifics on looks.
Side mirror - has holes in door for passenger one, but it is missing
gauges - they work, but she wants new better looking ones. Probably end up with dakota digital. No tach right now, and there are aftermarket temp, pressure, and volatage gauges installed. We can get rid of them and have all on the dakota cluster. Just need to figure out how to add/wire the info for a tach.
Washer fluid canister - missing
Air conditioner - has the interior controls for it, but when they put in the 350 it looks like they deleted it. So going to look into adding one.
Wiper blades
Battery strap/tie down
Weather stripping - has a few spots that could use new ones.
Seat knob - the knob on the back of the drivers seat is missing.
Dome light - test if actually hooked up, if so, get bulbs and cover
License plate frame - say 1968 camaro
Headlights - still need to discuss options
Parking lights - passenger front not working. Turn signal works, but not running light.
Center Console plates - original are in there, but could use new ones to look better
Adjust brake pedal - sits really high right now. Sitting about a foot off the floor, lol. There are a few options on what could be causing it.
Exhaust - has a sonic turbo system installed by midas back in the 90s. Not really sure what we want to do, but want something nice and deep.
Spoiler - she wants to add an oem one.

She is not into big cams, but loves a deep loud exhaust. Right now debating between a black widow angry housewife or flowmaster super 10.

She's debating or you're debating?
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

Re: The MARO
She wants something deep and throaty that screams muscle car but is also not whiny or monotone. Likes a good gurgle sound at idle. But not so obnoxious the neighbors hate you. Lol. Told her we need to go to the local exhaust shop in the spring and see if they can mock up a few options for her to listen to.
Re: The MARO
Flowmasters are restrictive. A straight through Dynamax sounds great on V8's. However if she wants loud you can always go Cherry Bombs.Duck Vader wrote: ↑Fri Nov 14, 2025 9:15 pm She wants something deep and throaty that screams muscle car but is also not whiny or monotone. Re: The MARO
true but its a basic small block. dual 2.5" flows are more than enough for it. might be making 200whpChargerX3 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 14, 2025 9:38 pmFlowmasters are restrictive. Yea, get what you like the most. Plenty of YouTube videos you can browse through until you settle on one. Pretty sure Flowmaster is now manufacturing out of China and not USA anymore as well.

Re: The MARO
I'd be curious what it's actually making hp wise, but don't want to pay the $500 or so to find out. It's got a 4 barrel on it at least and long tubes.
We both kind of like black widow exhaust but need to see if we can hear someone with it in person. YouTube can only do so much since different cars, different tunes, different engines, different recording devices, different locations, etc all can change how it sounds.

It's been ordered already.
Mentioned in chat. Mother sent us $5k to start buying parts so they are here when I get better and can use my arm again.
