IMO white does not do the shape of the car justice.

That's only 2.5 hours from me. Mostly straight shot down I-70.
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

I would. The trick is storing it and then getting it on to him when he's ready for it.

By the time he pays to ship it or we meet up in say, Salt Lake City, that adds a lot of cost. May as well just find one closer then.

That thing has had some extensive work done to the floor pan. Likely a major rust out. I would pass for that $.

OK so looks like it has to be a blue opel gt. That is what she wants. Automatic if possible. Hasn't driven a manual in 20 years. So unless we can pick up a cheap used car for her to practice on, it makes more sense to get an automatic. If we get an auto we might actually leave the engine alone other than a nice tune up as well.

That narrows it quite a bit. Can always wrap it.

What's the draw to the Opel? History with the car or just like the looks?

I agree with the wrap. Get a good condition car to start with.

Well the search is over. Picking up something probably tomorrow, if not, Monday.

It's not the opel.

Was driving by a local dealership today and saw something. We test drove it. We bought it. Needs work. Engine and transmission seems good. Drives straight. Brakes well. Body needs help. Bad paint job and bondo evidence. Floor pans look solid and trunk has no rust. Rear axle has surface rust and so does the gas tank, but that's about it other than the exhaust.

I'll post a thread after it gets home.
