i did that exact thing with my first stealth wheels. looked good IMO but i used actual wheel paint. it was before plastidip was a thing

I dipped the mustang wheels and the volt wheels. Both lasted well. I have like 5-6 cans of the stuff in the garage still. 
Figured if I end up liking it, once it peels, I can just remove it and use actual wheel paint.

When I had the dash out I saw there are plugs/wires going into the blank spaces for switches under the hvac controls. In the owners manual those are for the heated seats. I wonder if I found heated seats if it is already wired for it then?

Tough to say without seeing the factory wiring diagrams. The dash may be wired for it, but the body harness that connects to the fuse box may be missing critical bits.
I'd start by checking the owners manual to see where the heated seat fuse is, and then see if you have that fuse populated. Or at least if both terminals in that fuse location are populated.
On both my Ford and Chevy stuff I've seen some fuse locations that have the common positive terminal populated, but the other side that would go to the actual load is missing from the harness.

Obviously I'm all about DIY, but wouldn't it just be easier to buy one that's ready to go? It seems like constantly taking it on and off and trying to keep everything lined up would turn into a hassle really fast.

Good bumpers are way more expensive. Most people just tack it up on the car then pull it off for final welding

Ya. You can buy cheap ones on ebay or Amazon. But quality bumpers are usually north of $2k before even considering shipping or taxes.

Rear bumpers are insane once you factor in swing outs and stuff. The coastal kit is $1800 with all the options and that’s still diy without welding or coating.

As for power, I don't want more in it actually. Maybe a little growl from exhaust eventually but it's so smooth right now I don't want to add more power.
