I'd definitely call that a good day! Getting the keys for the box link is a real score.

You can get them on eBay for $5 each, but it's nice to not have to.

I feel you. Junkyard finds are exhilarating. I imagine its a lower form of Crack (wouldn't know) as it can be so much fun to find random, or really expensive stuff in there.

My best one is still the Cadillac thermal imaging camera. The guy at the counter told me he knew exactly what it was, but they didn't have a separate line item for it. So I got it for something like $20.

Yea, that was a sweet deal. Did you end up keeping it?

I think my best was buying a heavily modded TT Stealth from the fixer upper lot for $1,300.

It's in my basement.

That's a good deal for one that runs, let alone something modded.

Oh it didn't run. Had a giant hole through the block, but I had an extra motor i swapped out.

You should rig that thing up and go blacked out off roading.

Is it this camera? You know who you can sell that part to, if he ever needs it...

That's the one.

Mine has a busted germanium (?) outer lens on it. I understand that's pretty typical though. It still works fine. It's just less protected if I ever wanted to put it back on a car.

There's no place to put the mirror fold button on your trim piece? You should be able to order one from a Lariat Super Cab no? Or do the half door windows roll down too?

Trace it. Take your time, cut it out to fit?

It's going to be tough to cave that spot out, but I've seen one other guy do it. Super Cab has rear window switches so that's not going to work.

The bigger problem that you can't see in the picture is that the window switches don't work. I plugged it in and only the mirror adjustments work. It looks like they changed the LIN bus protocol on the Super Duty for some stupid ass reason. I'm really hoping it's just a mismatch between my base door control modules and this uplevel switch, but if not, I'm going to have a real problem.

That other guy I mentioned used a 4 door switch cluster in his. He just removed the rear switches and it fit his 2 door bezel just fine. I just really don't want a window lockout switch in mine.

The other annoying part is the two switch clusters have a ton of subtle differences, so I can't swap the circuit board or the individual buttons. I opened up my switch cluster and it's the same circuit board as the 4 doors. It's even got unpopulated spots for mirror fold and window lock. They used a common part for the F150s, and then had a completely unique part for the Super Duty, despite it looking and functioning exactly the same. It's so dumb.

What if you just swapped in a 4 door switch, and just made the rear window switches do something else?

Those are the new door cards. I already covered this. I'm going to cut out my existing bezel. Even if I did keep the new bezel, I'd have to find a filler for the spot where the telescoping mirror switch goes.

Covered this too. You can cut the rear switches off and fit it into the 2 door bezel.

I can make it fit. I just don't know if I can make it work.

Start at 2:45 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBI0YW4dp5g

This would have been cheaper and easier, but I don't want the leftover window lockout switch to be there.
