I was gonna go with a Ferrari red that was real close to stock. Still would require door jambs, but not trunk jamb or engine bay since those are a different red stock anyway.
I’m gonna at least get a quote and see. Maybe it’s worth it to wait another year and do the whole car, or maybe it’s worth it to have those things fixed.

Finally fixed my chimes so they go through the radio. I swapped in the 17 Lariat radio that came with my dash. Guess there was some kind of software conflict with the 18 Expedition radio that was in there.
Got some other fun goodies coming for the great cab overhaul of 2025

I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

I can't wait to see this thing completed, and it be the truck Ford should have offered from the factory.

Re: Let's try Ford now.
Is that slot at the front of the mirror/window switch for the extending mirrors
Re: Let's try Ford now.
Yeah. It's off a Super Duty. The eBay shop that sold me the switch thinks they can get $50 for that button alone
I'm going to see if I can't use my existing bezel and just Dremel out the spot for the fold button.

Re: Let's try Ford now.
You're not planning on tow mirrors are you?
I would imagine it's the same from 15-20
Re: Let's try Ford now.
Nope. No interest in tow mirrors.
There's actually two part numbers for this switch. One for 2017 and one for 18-22. This one is the 2nd part. I really hope it works with my door control module
When this is over, I wonder how many parts I'm going to have from different donor vehicles, and how many of them won't even be F150s.

Re: Let's try Ford now.
So you’re not going with the power extend. Just the power fold then?

Re: Let's try Ford now.
Had a good day at the junkyard. They got a 2016 F150. It was an XLT that didn't have a whole lot that I needed, but it was still worth a trip.

After I took the seats out.
Got a set of BoxLink tie-down mounts for the bed. They're not expensive, but they've always been behind something else in the priority list. I'm not looking forward to chasing the bolt holes with a tap to get rid of the bedliner material though.

As an added win, I found the keys hiding behind the carpet near the dash.
The carpet was one of the big reasons I went. I've had to tell myself I'm fine with my rubber floor, mainly because you can't get regular cab carpet, and 4 door carpet is insanely expensive for something I'm just going to have to cut up and modify.
Getting it for $18 and a fair amount of hard work changes that equation.
When I was checking out, the guy at the counter asked if I had a dead body in it. I said I might as well given how much it weighed. It's wet. I'm gonna let it dry out and then shampoo the hell out of it. It should clean up nicely though.

There were a few other random odds and ends, but nothing worth talking about. I was hoping the roof was wired for an auto-dimming mirror, but it wasn't. Small disappointment, but not that big a deal.
Oh, and I got to see a giant metal fire at the scrap yard nextdoor.
