5.7. 2008 gen 2. TRD SR5 4x4. Double cab.

1 owner. Full service history at Toyota dealer.

Was able to get a great deal on it. They took my raptor and gave me $2000 less than I paid for it for trade in. But they gave me $4000 back plus the Tundra. So have $4k more in savings and no longer have a truck payment.

Not really going to get into why, but needed to drop my dti as much as possible right now so had to unload the raptor. Last couple of months have been hell and it's not looking any better anytime soon. But still needed a full size reliable truck I could get for cheap.

Needs better tires for off road and window tint. But already has android auto radio and everything. Need to paint that horrible silver dash shit Toyota did during the 2nd gen. Has a bed rug in the bed along with carpet on the interior of the cap.

3 guys at work have these. They have like a 10,000lb tow rating or something (I didn’t look up exact) but it about the same as my 2500. They squat bad when towing but easy fix. They all never have anything bad to say about them! One guy did have some fluke trans issue where a drum cracked. It still drove but would slip. The trans place even had issues as they had never really seen that happen.

That was deff on my radar instead of the 2500 and I prob should have gotten it instead. Good buy man.

Good friend of mine had one of these, and then got a newer one before they went to the V6 turbo. He loves them. Only issue he ever had was with his 07 was the starter went out (at like 170k miles), and they are pain in the ass to replace.

the intake damn near falls out of these and the nissan. nothing like the work involved with removing a northstar intake for starter access.

in fact i like them much more as its all fairly clean work. no starter drenched in oil and working next to the exhaust.

I will say, looking in the engine bay, there is so much room for activities and easy to access compared to the last few trucks I have had.

I haven't decided on if I want to keep the canopy or not. Have mixed feelings. Might remove it, see how I like it, then go from there.

I do plan on getting the front windows tinted.

Would like to get some off-road oriented tires. The ones on there are street tires but new. But with just a level kit I can easily fit 33s or 35s so thinking about it.

It has the factory deck rails in the back, so going to look into what attachments might be available. They have a cargo separator for sure.

If I do leave the shell/canopy on, I might get one of those Wolfbox cameras. Can't see shit out the back with it on through the review mirror.

I was parked next to one of these the other day. Something about the way they styled it makes the door on the single cab trucks look absolutely huge. Especially with a long bed.

I know this isn't what happened, but visually it almost looks like they used the same cab as yours and just put in one door instead of two.

He had the dealer do it on his 5.7 Tundra (cause I was in China), and they had to take the exhaust off (or at least that's what the book called for)?

Nice trade. I like the carpeted bed. I would leave that in tact and enjoy having a clean storage place, or makeshift camper.

Yes I would love a camper/carpet bed. But you are right about being able to see out of them.

From what I understand from researching it back then, you can do it without taking the exhaust off, but it's a PITA.

Getting new tires. The ones on there are undersized sl rated tires designed for on road crossovers/suv. Getting KO3s installed this weekend. Going from a 30 to 33 inch tire (which I can fit on stock suspension).

Tint going on on Monday.

Once custom built brackets arrive I'll install the yellow fog/spot lights I ordered for the raptor.

And a stubby antenna. Factory regular one is broken.

Might install one of my subs to see how it sounds. Has factory jbl system but aftermarket head unit.

Going out on a limb and saying this thing will have a lift, 35" tires, and all sorts of custom stuff before summer hits. ;)

A family friend just had to replace his on his 5.7L Tundra and I can arrest you have to remove the exhaust and it takes forever to get out.
