 I'm not going to get greedy. My insurance co called this morning and said I'll get my deductible back too. The other driver accepted fault.

We'll see what the body shop says about doing the hood out of pocket.

Based on photos alone, the body shop wants to replace the bed side. $4300. Apparently I'm fucking blind and the wheel arch is pushed in or something. :sigh:

standard procedure for a body shop. increases billable hours since insurance is paying for it anyways.

I finally got down and looked at it at about eye level with the center line of the axle. The lower leading edge of the bed is definitely bent in. I've got some photos that show it pretty clearly now that I know what to look for.

Pretty sure that's within factory tolerance for most FCA products

So it’s not the axle that’s making the tire stick out farther, it’s the bed being bent?

Yeah. You can't really see it looking down from normal standing height, but it's pretty obvious when you kneel down and look at it down the length of the truck. I think I'm more disappointed that the body shop guys saw it so clearly from some casual photos it took from 10-15 feet away. But I guess that's why they're doing their job and I'm not.

Took it to the body shop yesterday. After seeing it in person, they don't think it needs a new panel. We'll see. I'm dropping it off Monday.

I asked them about redoing the hood. They wanted another $1100 to do that. No thanks.

Yeah I need my hood, front/rear bumpers, and roof redone on my Stealth. Thinking it's going to be like $3-4k to have it done would be my guess. Less than a full repaint though I suppose...

I dunno. If you're going that far you might as well do the whole car. Didn't you want to do a minor color change anyway? A slightly darker more interesting red?
