That's a great price. They're out of stock though.
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

The OEM paintable is showing as in stock for me
Re: Truck yeah! Dirty Snow Edition
Wonder if they make those for mine? I don’t like the chrome on them.

According to Aaron the belt will outlive the truck

Re: Truck yeah! Dirty Snow Edition
Not that oil pump belt. It’ll last 125-150k though most of the time. It’s not our belt though. And if you get a 3.5 or 5.0 it doesn’t have it. I don’t think the 2.7/3.0 have had many issues with the belt. Not like the 1.0 3 cylinder anyway.

could have sworn the new 5.0 is belt driven in the trucks.
edit: alas...the oil pump belt

The 5.0 got one in like 20 or 21. Basically when they went to the 3rd Gen of the 5.0.

Ah didn’t know the 5.0 had it now too. I mean they’ll last 125k or so (as that’s the life of vehicle most OEs use these days). I’m not sure why they’re doing it instead of a chain, except for cost.

It's not like Ford has had great luck with their timing chain and such either

Re: Truck yeah! Dirty Snow Edition
Its fairly common now. GM uses them on their 3.0 Duramax and I know there are others around too.

And it’s on the transmission side of the engine. Need to change it? Have to drop the trans.Chris GTO TT wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2025 7:56 pm Its fairly common now. GM uses them on their 3.0 Duramax and I know there are others around too.
