I haven't paid a lot of attention to it since my truck isn't OTA capable, but I thought there was a way to re-sync your truck with the mothership so it was aware of part replacements?

As for the seats, the base heated seats are controlled directly from the HVAC control panel. The heated/cooled seats are controlled via their own module and the CAN bus.
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

There is probably a way to update the system via FRDS and a mongoose cable. There has to be a way for the system to recognize a new part number since they are always creating revisions for parts.

I'm guessing the big box has some power folding mirrors in it, and the switch has the power fold mirror button.

Got the new mirrors installed and working today. I had a little trouble de-pinning one of the wires at the connection. I wound up having to push the connector through and then snipped off the square end so I could pull the wire out. This still leaves me with the full length of the wire should I decide to go back to a stock configuration. Installed the new window switch with the fold button and the mirrors came with a new trim piece with the extend switch. I even figured out how to enable the autofold features in Forscan.

Looks good.

I've debated on doing the auto fold feature. But I find I don't need to yet. Parking is only an issue at Danielle's work place so far.

I'll eventually replace the mirror caps to get rid of the chrome. The Super Duty paint to match caps are $32 a piece. Then I either need to find a shop to paint them or try my hand at painting them with canned 'touch-up' paint.

A long time ago, I repainted my entire rear bumper of my Stealth with rattle can touch up paint. It looked decent enough, and got me buy until I had the car fully repainted. You'd be more than fine doing those mirror caps yourself.

Take your time doing prep, and use some of that toxic 2 part clear and they'll probably come out pretty good. They're not directly touching another painted body part, so the color match doesn't need to be flawless.

I was surprised it had the chrome. Instal looks great.

Coop
The power folding tow mirrors only come with chrome caps.
