Just what coop needs another car that can't get out of his driveway
Re: Another montero...i haz one
You laugh but we have been spring cleaning. Tons of stuff that was in the basement from working on the bonus room. We put all in the same container. I loaded those up in the downstairs garage. Then parked in the upstairs and took up stairs. One less staircase plus lets things to hit while carrying. The avalanche 3 wheels going into the downstairs. But I use my 2 wheel low switch and love it. Also parked the vr4 in the grass right outside. It spun all the wheels when I took off a little hard getting out. Lol.
It’s not fun.

Mr2 was more comfortable than any of Miata’s for me. And more fun to drive.

There's an amazing looking White MR2 Turbo running around my town and I keep wanting to tell the old guy driving it to call me if he ever wants to sell it.

Put 8 miles on it today. Other than the tires being square bricks... No problems yet.

I'm honestly impressed. I think the exploder was better for what I need (and significantly easier to find parts for) but I'm really impressed everything works so far. Sunroof wants to open but it's physically stuck so I gotta get up there and clean it.aaronatstate wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2024 3:46 amEarly 90s Mitsubishi reliability and quality right there!
Grabbed an overflow cap and ptu pigtail last week so everything's good there. Still haven't cleaned any moss off it. Kinda want to leave it. The yellow jackets love it. Had a couple inside with me on the drive to Mom's house today.

Glad to see it held up. Its great how resilient these older 80/90's japanese trucks hold up.
I would totally rock the moss. Just clean off the windows so you can see.

Seriously, just take a clean razor blade and scrape clean. No water, so you dont mess up the "patina".

Code 22 and 23. Stumble and spits at high rpm. This is why I'm driving it now. Get this shit handled early.

What do those codes mean? Put the mods back on the windows?

Crank and cam sensor loss of signal. I can still get an OEM crank sensor. Cam seems to be unobtanium. I'm gonna take a look at the Sorento sensor and cut the plug off if it's otherwise identical.aaronatstate wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 4:15 amWhat do those codes mean? Put the mods back on the windows?
Edit. Found a Hitachi cmp for a 96+ for 14 bucks. Sensor head looks the same from pics. Wire length may be different but no big deal. When I first got it I used a 3s crank sensor but had to splice wires.

I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.
