2008, z51, 3lt, 6 speed auto.

What I'd like to fix/change.

Hatch struts/shocks are shot
Morimoto headlights
Axle back exhaust
Tint
Tires/wheels
Radio (want android auto)
Speakers - current crappy bose system from 08 gives me a headache

Other than that not much else right now. Will slowly do some of those over the next few months.

Why would it end poorly?

Get rid of those chintzy ZR1 replica wheels and all will be right with the world.

Also, why does it look like you have a tumbleweed behind your car?

Also the end poorly was a joke. I know this car is going to get me into trouble. Triple digits come way too easily from what I am used to. Took a bit to get used to driving it slow as well. Slow over speed bumps. Stiff suspension (Z51) plus thin tires made me feel everything and the road noise on one of our freeways out here was HORRIBLE. Loud enough in my truck or subaru, but add in the vette and it was downright headache inducing.

DId take a bend I usually have to slow to 60 in the outback at 75 and felt like it was nothing so that was cool.

It also sounds like there might be a minor exhaust leak. Didn't really get into too much last night by the time I got home. If I have time I will check over some stuff.

I wonder if it would be worth making the drive to Vancouver next year to Wongs and getting this thing on a dyno. See if there is any tuning to be done if I do the exhaust and maybe intake. I have a tuner here for gm vehicles and can get an email tune for cheap but nothing beats a dyno tune.

Just enjoy it, lots of R&D went into it and if it runs great then just drive it.

It's not about performance gains. It's about making sure a 15 yr old 65k mile engine is running at its best

I agree with Chris. I don't think you're going to get much out of it with just an exhaust and an intake. Not enough to justify a re-tune. I'm not going to tune mine until I put the new intake manifold on it.

This. No reason for a tune with minor bolt on mods.

I guess I was thinking more about just making sure nothing was a miss. I could probably just do a data log run and upload the numbers and see if anything is off. Like my old silverado truck had an intake leak and exhaust leak. Wasn't throwing codes or anything but the air/fuel mixture wasn't running at its best. That was my thought process behind it.

Your truck you went on a whole trip down was horrible. Leave stuff alone and enjoy. It will let you know when it’s messed up.

Pulled the cabin air filter and the intake filter. Cabin filter is beat to hell and dirty as well. Definitely replacing that. Need to see if there is anything out there that is recommended. Air intake filter is an oil K&N and dirty as hell. BOO. Going to order and install an attack blue filter to replace it.
