Both my f250 and outback are silver and my personal wardrobe is all shades of dark blue, black, or grey. I just don't like bright colors personally. Makes me uncomfortable.alienviking wrote: ↑Thu Jun 15, 2023 1:46 pm Neighbor has a SC430 as his nice weather car. He loves it but I can't help but agree that the design is sub par and bloated hah.
I love my dark gunmetal grey'ish car (and Beth's vert in the same more or less color). I have gotten one speeding ticket in my 25 or so years of spirited driving in the US and that was in the ex' red SUV hah. Personal preference obviously but there aren't many cars at all that look good to me in red - the dark red Mazda is decent but anything brighter.. nope. That includes Ferraris.

I'm the same way. It drives Vira nuts.
I'd drive an exotic car in a wild color if I could afford one though. A purple or green McLaren would be great.
(Edit by Vira: I'm a dumbass and somehow edited this post rather than quoting it.
No point fixing it now.)
You have red, green and purple tshirts too. Just no yellow and orange. That's fine.
And you actually wore this!

I actually thought about looking for a turbo PT Cruiser vert. It's just such an oddball car.Duck Vader wrote: ↑Thu Jun 15, 2023 1:41 pm Or a mini. They are not that small honestly.
Or you can fuck with everyone and get a turbo pt cruiser.

One of those modern ford thunders?

I meant SSR’s they seem to be close to your range. Odd and prob not near as cool, but you don’t see them often.

There is one of those in the area here. It sort of tickles my "oddball cars I like" side.DCIV wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2023 2:33 am I meant SSR’s they seem to be close to your range. Odd and prob not near as cool, but you don’t see them often.

Back when I went to cars and coffee there was a SSR club that made the typical boomer Vette crew look normal lol

Why no muscle car? Have you ever driven an s550 mustang?vegasidol wrote: ↑Sun Jun 11, 2023 5:25 pm Other factors...
Parking on driveway (hard on soft top in sun/winter.)
To replace H3, Jeff would prefer AWD.
I prefer a COLOR! So many black, silver, white...(but will compromise for the right car)
Nothing super small. No Miata, MR2. No Solora, no (bubble butt) Eclipse. No muscle cars: Camaro, Mustang.
I'm leaning, BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Porsche. I've always liked the Skye/Solstice, then Jeff shows me how annoying the soft top is.
10k is if we keep the H3. I'm thinking 20k+ if we can replace the H3.
Anyway, this is probably more of a fun idea if anything. My friend just makes me a little jelly riding around in her vert.![]()

I've just never cared for Mustangs.
Muscles cars, in general is not the look/feel I'm going for. This would be more carefree...not looking take anyone on.

Whenever you use forceful and overt verbal persuasion to try to convince others to see things your way, they're probably not listening to what you say, Instead they're looking for every error in you your logic and mistakes in your facts, all the while constructing counterarguments. Worse still, they don't merely believe you're wrong; they need you to be wrong in order to protect the status quo. And since the final judge exists in their own head, you lose every time. - The Influencer
Is the level of bullshit you have to go through to change things in a direction you want, less than than or equal than the level of current bullshit?
Re: Bad decisions with toy cars. Flood Boxster vs E90 335i vert
I'm not saying as a fast car. 15+ mustangs drive so much better than they used to.
Not sure what else is out there that ticks your boxes other than an older Volvo c70 or something but then you're in the bmw reliability bracket again.

This is the SC430 from Facebook. $4400, 262k miles (!), engine was allegedly replaced with a much lower mileage example in 2021. Clearcoat is shot, and it was hit in the front. Also, the tops of both front fenders are damaged from the hood flying up at some point. I don't even understand how that could happen, but whatever. The interior looks to be in decent shape.
Here's probably the two worst photos. We haven't gone to see it in person yet.

Anyway, I can get both fenders in matching red and a headlight (if it actually needs one) for around $900. Sand off the clearcoat and wrap it or PlastiDip it or something. The bumper looks mostly ok. The hole is just a missing lamp washer cap.
We might be able to fix it up a little and maybe break even, but I definitely don't see us making much if anything on the deal. But it might give Vira her comfy open top cruiser she's looking for. We paid more for the Spyder and it was in much worse shape. I just don't know if it's worth the hassle.

Yeah that's too rough for me but I'm pretty particular about those kinds of cosmetic issues
Re: Bad decisions with toy cars. Flood Boxster vs E90 335i vert
I am too. But for a beater, it might be ok. It wouldn't take a whole lot to get it looking like this.
