Yeah, guessing that’s the guy who rebuilt its wife. This carb has been rebuilt and tested on a model A. So it’s good to go. Waiting on my ignition to come in. Also going to Knoxville today (needs its own thread) so hopefully coming back with some fresh e85.

He could and if anyone wishes that upon themselves. You know, to make their own life harder….more power to them.

This is the tube that comes from the shut off under the fuel tank to the fuel bowl. It broke off at the fuel bowl. Which is held on by a huge nut, then this. Pot metal. So I’m also gonna cut the end of that flush, put in a fitting in, then put with the correct so I can still use this part. It just looks the part. I can still buy a new one if I mess up. But here is what I started with.

Image

Drilled a little more.

A little more.

A little more

Then started to bust out some of the metal.

And bam!

Now I did get a little too much into the bevel, so I am going to try and re do the angle. But honestly people, this is gravity fed, it’s not really under pressure. I could use that paste they use and be just fine.

Again, the pipe looks the part. Plus this didn’t take too long.

Not bad problem solving. Next time use the torch. Bet that pot metal would melt well before the steel is damaged

Think these would let me put the 45 degree end back on it? It doesn’t have to be perfect. I can put an o ring in there honestly. It’s just gravity fed.

Ignition will be here Wednesday, I’m getting excited again. New carb, ignition…if everything goes well….I’ll drive this bitch in the parking lot. Lol

Ordered a new tube. Will try again Saturday to fill it with coolant. Lol. It will idle long enough now that I can start adjusting things. But I need coolant to not worry about if I’m getting it too hot.

Just another step.

It was totally covered by the hose. We had no idea, we were shocked. Lol. Stainless one is all of 20 bucks. Ha.

I just got mind fucked.

Gah. Apparently if you hook the coil up backwards the car will run but the spark will be very weak and not run great.

THATS WHAT MINE IS DOING!!!!

Now I have to wait a week to try it.

Got a long way to go, but it moves under its own power.

Okay let’s go a little deeper.

Got a stainless pipe to fix the one one that rusted. I still need to paint it, put in the original drain, and I think I’m gonna recondition the original hose clamps. So these are just to fill it with fluid. Looks like crap right now but will be fixed.
Image

Also this belt stuff….so the original metal fans….can fly apart. Like out of the hood fly apart. I don’t. Think I wanna play with that. Even though it’s lasted this long. Also the water pump just needs to be changed. It spins hard…..fans have to be some sort of fitted to the water pump so it’s not like I can just swap them in and out. So some figuring out needs to happen. If ever shown, it needs the original fan blade. Chances of it being shown…very slim but I would like to.

Anyways. It’s gonna get cold, it runs, it needs to go to the house.
