Gonna send the doc packet out tonight. Hopefully things will smooth out from here.

The lien release for the white car came today too. So that's another load off my mind. Now I just need to decide if I'm going to send it all to the state, or just let the eventual buyer deal with it. I can't remember how long it takes to get a cleared title back.

That's why I never got a title lien released. Legally out here you only have so many days but it's such a pain I usually just let the next buyer deal with it. Still need to do it for both our cars but waiting until we move.

We sent the lien release with the people who bought the Mazda. They apparently didn't have any problem. I got the cleared title for my Audi to make it easier to sell, but I can't remember how long that took. I ended up flipping that at Carmax anyway.

Wow CA DMV is way better than that. Pay off the loan the bank sends the release to the DMV and the DMV automatically issues a new title. I didn't have to do anything when I paid off the truck and the outback last year.

Sweet. I was just gonna suggest putting your current Vette tag on the GS and not drive stupid. You wouldn’t get pulled over.

Until you get that cop that's also a car guy and decides to run the plate.

I got pulled over in my Lincoln not long after moving here only because the cop also happened to be from Maui and ran my plate at a light.

His plate would still show registered to him and would be registered to a corvette. The probably 5 miles he would’ve had to drive would’ve been fine.

Corvette? Yes. But the gs doesn't look white to me. That would likely raise enough suspicion to look into further

Maybe. Could just say he’s going to transfer his tag and here’s the paperwork showing he bought it a few days ago. When I worked at the Kia dealership, we would move tags over instead of doing temp tags a lot of the time.

Haha that’ll work for sure! Police have to call back to HQ for out of state license plates. They won’t do that for someone driving normal lol

Hopefully they wouldn't realize MI discontinued the blue plates around 2010 and my sticker says 2006

I got the paperwork packet sent out Friday night. It was delivered to their doc team in Houston this morning. No updates yet.

I also took the battery out and had it tested. It's shot. Based on the date stamp, it's the original from when the car was built.

I checked the PCM for a tune, just in case. It came back clean. I didn't have any reason to believe it had one, but I wanted to be sure since I paid for a warranty on it.

That's good it doesn't have a tune. Hopefully it's all resolved soon!

So, how annoyed should I be that after I checked the GS into the dealer to get the IDOD that he asked, 'Do you want me to check the blinker fluid too?'

:grumble:

I laughed it off, and he chucked to himself as well. I kept it nice since he was doing us a favor by squeezing the inspection in, but yeah, I wasn't happy about it.

Whenever you use forceful and overt verbal persuasion to try to convince others to see things your way, they're probably not listening to what you say, Instead they're looking for every error in you your logic and mistakes in your facts, all the while constructing counterarguments. Worse still, they don't merely believe you're wrong; they need you to be wrong in order to protect the status quo. Should have followed up with, as long as you check the muffler bearings as well.

Really confused him.

Another morning passed without updates. Again.
So I called in. Again.
Got another useless customer service agent. Again.

He said his last notes were that I was going to have the car inspected, and asked if I had done that. I let him know they've had the completed packet since first thing Monday morning, and their useless little website dashboard had a worthless green check saying my DMV docs were completed.

He's going to forward it on to someone in the docs dept and he assures me I won't have to call in and ask for an update again.

I wish I had never done this.
