Lol yep. The 2 day build from a gutted roller to a 600 mile drive.

Got an email tonight saying it was shipped. No ETA yet though.

Also got my refund check from Copart. Kinda sad about that. Now I'm unquestionably bought, not built. :sigh:

I had pro level membership, and that included a refundable $400 deposit that let me bid up to $100,000. Not that I had anywhere near that much to play with, but there's nothing in between the entry level membership and this.

I tried to buy a wrecked ZR1. I failed. Had my eye on a few other things that didn't work out either.

Called it quits and got my money back.

You were willing to build a wrecked Vette? They must go dirt cheap then.

At the end of the day would you have been happy with the copart thing, yes….but you always would know it’s not worth what it should be because it’s wrecked.

You did the right thing.

It wasn't about the value of the car. It was the value of the project.

We’ve all had projects. They are great. They challenge us, they make us proud….but they are stress, time taken, and never seem to end.

Enjoy your finished project.

The only other project I've had since the Spyder was the truck, and I didn't finish that because I lost interest in it. I can't imagine a situation where I'd have lost interest in a ZR1 or McLaren.

Never said lost interest. I’m aware you can accomplish anything you are dedicated on.

$65k for a badly wrecked ZR-1. No thanks. Too many things to go wrong along the way and always questioning weather or not she will hold together at speed.

You made the right choice.

I would have gotten the frame professionally repaired. I wasn't just going to hack this thing back together with my Lincoln MIG :p

I know you would have done it as best as possible, but you are only looking at $130k for a really nice used one. You would be into the salvage one about as much, but with way more time, and still have a crap title, and garbage resale value.

You made the right choice.

I think you made the right choice too. A salvage title ZR1 where you are into it for $80k+ sounds like a bad idea. That thing looked pretty hammered.

Yeah. I took it off yesterday. Gonna change the oil while it's up too. Hoping to button it up tonight.
