Jeff's winter Corvette thread.

Re: Jeff's winter Corvette thread.
It's happening.
Just...slowly. Since this is a "tech company" and not a car retailer, they use a payment integration system that won't talk to my bank, despite my bank being the first one in their list of partners. The damn API versions are mismatched or something.
So I need to send them a check for the down payment. Because sending physical paper on a physical carbon burning vehicle on physical roads is more futuristic than just taking a goddamn wire transfer like every other 20th century business does.
This is not helping my anxiety about this transaction.

Exciting but stressful too. Wired they aren’t caught up with the times though. Nothing dodgy going on?

Re: Jeff's winter Corvette thread.
That's messed up. Hell, they should be able to take Bitcoin by now if they think they are a tech company.

This isn't a good story you want to tell.
A story you would tell is something like, I bought the car from CA, flew out there to get it, drove it back, and it was an amazing road trip.

They're a legit company. But it looks like they mostly stick to the west coast and I think Texas.
I really wanted to go get it. I've wanted to drive to or from the west coast for a long time. But I've taken a fair amount of time off in the last 3 months and I don't want to push my luck.
They insist they can register it on my behalf too. You can't register an out of state car in MO without a VIN and odometer check, which can only be done at a license shop here in the state. So that'll be interesting.
I'm not looking forward to the actual delivery either. When I had the Mighty Max delivered, I met the guy and his huge truck at the shopping complex around the corner, rather than have him try to get it in and out of our cul de sac. But that was before the Tesla dealer was there. It's also just kinda weird to go get an expensive car in a random parking lot. It wasn't such a big deal with a $900 farm truck.
This is some of the shit that keeps me up at night.

Eh. I think its good. Kind of like I had to wire money for a vehicle and wait 9 months to drive it.

There are other options. The grocery store has a huge lot. Especially by the closed Berbiglia. Even the side roads by the car dealerships should work. This is not a major concern.

Whenever you use forceful and overt verbal persuasion to try to convince others to see things your way, they're probably not listening to what you say, Instead they're looking for every error in you your logic and mistakes in your facts, all the while constructing counterarguments. Worse still, they don't merely believe you're wrong; they need you to be wrong in order to protect the status quo. And since the final judge exists in their own head, you lose every time. - The Influencer
Is the level of bullshit you have to go through to change things in a direction you want, less than than or equal than the level of current bullshit?

I've had this car on hold for more time than it took you to list and complete the sale of yours.

Well, I do know how to sell.

Edit: That said, I wonder if I let it go too low?
It was quick...
At least it was 'easy'.

Someone else who didn't have a hookup on paint and cash burning holes in his pockets probably would have beat you up more on the condition. I think you did very well.

Re: Jeff's winter Corvette thread.
$15k on that car is a good price. Hard to tell if prices will increase much more or not. Still a lot of 3S's out there, so it might be a while before they shoot the moon.

Let's be clear. He got it for closer to 13k. We threw nearly 2k of parts in with the deal.

Depends on how you value the parts.

There is always a little of sellers remorse afterwards. You'll find another beauty to get attached to soon enough.
Just sell Jeff's Hummer.
