Just throwing it out there….a cf hood might be cheaper and look good…..

Coop
So where/how?

Jeff doesn't think I should respray the hood because it won't match.

A good paint shop should be able to paint the hood and feather that color into the fenders such that its not noticeable.

I don't necessarily mean the color match. I mean the fact that the rest of the car still has 17 years of worth of environmental damage. The hood will look pristine and it'll just call more attention to how tired the rest of the car is.

That's what I said. Factor the damage into the price and let the next owner figure it out.

I havnt looked into personally but do know there still are a couple places that sell hoods.

He’s right, the weathered paint will not match. It’s how much does the new hood cost you vs how much more will you get out of it.

I know the blue one near me sold for over 25k. But his was pretty much perfect with very high miles.

I would put the price you want for it for sale, if it doesn’t sell, paint the roof, get a cf hood, throw some intrax springs on it, and then list again.

Honestly, where is hans? He knows this part better than any of us?

I’ve looked into it twice now. Get ready to pay more for a paint job than adding a 3/s to the stable. It’s crazy to get just a basic, correct, paint job. I’m not even talking show worthy….I’m just talking about correct.

A good paint job is VERY labor intensive hence why they are so expensive.

Agreed. Not knocking it, just way more than I thought.

There is a reason it a future plan.

It just needs an exterior paint so that will take a lot out of the cost.

Well, the deal may be going down today.

Local, has cash.

Considering selling my car PLUS my old wheels (some chrome damage), a used engine, a Jester ECU, and a set of glass headlights = $15k

I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep. I busied my self with Reddit for a (couple of hours) and dozed off again. I think I woke up in a startle imagining my car gone!

I feel like I'm going through these steps a logical zombie, because it's the right thing to do. I just hope I don't regret it.

I wish I could wake up tomorrow and have my car all ready for sale, and a buyer picking it up. Not worth it to me to have a garage ornament anymore.

This is really where I come back to every time. Even if I sold mine, what would I ever get to come close to something like it. I mean the vette is almost the only answer (obviously jeff has that for them), but other than power to performance it’s hard to even think about what to get.

This would be the first time I've only had 1 car in 20+ years. I would always have a backup car in my parents fleet. And yes, we do have the Hummer technically.

For now, I'll just pay off the Audi and enjoy it. Keep my life as simple as I can and focus on my health and unloading the project house.

The market is high now anyway, and I already bought a new car in this market.

Jeff will see things along the way. There will be more.

Yes, the project house I own with my family. The ball and chain of my life. Had that longer than the car, and no one can live there... :sigh:

Money.

Pit.
