Cappuccino - Not only a beverage, but an interesting Japanese Kei Car

Post by ChargerX3 »

I like them, and my kids love theirs...i mean mine.

Some local guy put it up for sale last week. Turns out hes a Montero guy too. This is how its been parked for the last year non running.

Washing off a year of barn dust. :ick:

Proper size perspective. The tow dolly is longer and even has larger wheels.
Image

How big is the motor? 0.657 liters. Maximum size of Kei cars was 660cc. No worries it has a turbo and 64 WHP.

Where she sits now. Had to vacate the 96TTT for her to fit. So the bad is that the car doesn't run due to a shredded timing belt. Owner at the time skipped timing and likely slapped some of the valves. He pulled the head and put it all back together because he "didnt see any issues". So its got a new water pump and timing components, but compression is minimal due to what I can only assume is bent valves.

That would not be a pretty sight to see. Its a snug fit. Might have 1-2" of space above my head. Interestingly enough the column is adjustable AND telescopic. The latter being a life saver.

I did too. However I didn't really need one that is already broken. That did help the price point though.

Ill have to admit the prices have really jumped in just the past couple years.

Little bit of perspective of how big a this 3 cylinder is

This is how long the block is...one palm.

So how does one work on a Cappuccino? Hire some of Santa's helpers with power tools. Or get a knee pad. Its so tiny and easy to reach across the whole bay. Lots of small parts though. Most of my bolts are 10mm and 12mm on the large end. Guess the size of the harmonic balancer bolt?

Even my 2 year old can work on it.

Dude those last pictures are hilarious. I’d love a cappuccino or an az1, but I’m too fat for that

I know. Just seeing me next to it is funny. However my kids absolutely adore the car. Its literally perfect for them to reach everything on. Just last night i spent an hour with them opening up all the doors and trunk just because they could access them and they weren't too bulky that they couldn't manage their operation.

Girth would be the challenge in this size of car. I'm 6'2 or 3 (cannot recall) and I have an inch or two above me. I wouldn't want any less space because of bumps. I'm also fairly wide, but the seats unlike Recaros are very comfortable. More comfortable than a 3s for comparison.
