Whenever you use forceful and overt verbal persuasion to try to convince others to see things your way, they're probably not listening to what you say, Instead they're looking for every error in you your logic and mistakes in your facts, all the while constructing counterarguments. Worse still, they don't merely believe you're wrong; they need you to be wrong in order to protect the status quo. And since the final judge exists in their own head, you lose every time. - The Influencer

My S5 was the first year of an all new model, when Audi was kind of reinventing everything they did. Probably not the best time to get into their brand. From 2010 onward, the A5/S5/RS5 was pretty well regarded.

The SQ5 is 8 years newer, and the 2nd to last year of that generation. Based on the research we've done, they had the bugs knocked out of it by then. It's got the ZF 8HP transmission that's in a lot of cars other than VW products, and it's regarded as one of the best autos in existence. The engine is also really stout. I'm really not that worried. In any case, that's what the warranty is for.

Why is the 2021 so much quicker? Like a full second quicker to 60?

Those numbers seem off. Motortrend puts the difference at 0.4 seconds. Still pretty impressive, but not a full second.

That's easily fixed though.

Amazing things happen with turbo engines when you can raise the boost and still keep safety factors in place

Oh I'm sorry.

Wait. 449 with only a tune but only another 6hp with a pulley change? Seems fishy unless they dump boost in oe form and they're just preventing that with the tune.

I've only ever heard good things about APR, so maybe it really is a super conservative tune from the factory. The dyno chart seems to point to exactly that. The stock power curve flattens out from 5500 RPM onward.

This explains why Vira fought so hard to get this specific car. They're almost always black, gray, super dark blue, or white. So when a bright one finally comes around, it looks like one of those black and white photos where someone selectively added color to it.
