Stinger GT AWD for sure.

But I’d look at the 2015+ mustang. Try and put car seats in the back. You’d be surprised how much room they have back there

Not sure how much Stingers with the TT V6 are going for where you are but here they start at $36k used. They also strike me as a cruiser more than a great handling car.

It’s because what your wanting doesn’t exists. I know because I want what your talking about as a daily. Your better off with some sort of hatch or subi.

I'm not necessarily after a true daily driver if I were something like the Accord sport 2.0T or the Camry TRD would fit the bill pretty well.

I've mentioned 2 that match the wanting. Then he changed the rules.

I'll mention a couple more. E46 m3. 03+ e55 (less "fun" but still fun in a different way) q50 turbo (maybe a 400. Haven't priced them used)

Considering you are recommending I not get a GTI for reliability and repair costs it's kind of hypocritical to recommend cars with more reliability issues and more expensive parts. No?

I'll admit to leaning that direction simply because I'm familiar with them.

He's just wanting some to justify a new STi, because he can't push himself over the edge to get it

So nothing else is really going to satisfy, unless you are talking about a new, or slightly used STi

I'm honestly trying to avoid spending that kind of money, and used STi isn't even a good idea now when they cost the same as a new one.

This x100

They exist. You'll think you're overpaying because most are clapped out shitboxes and priced pretty much as such but when you find a gem... Pony up or buy a shitbox.

You are, but nothing else is going to satisfy what you want for the most part. And you've wanted an STi for a long time, you love your Subarus, and if you get anything but an STi you'll still be wanting an STi, so you might as well go ahead and get the STi.

No matter how clean, it is still a 17+ years old BMW.

Get a STI if you don't necessarily need to focus on a DD. If you do, get a Stinger.

I understand what you're saying just really having a hard time with $40k + tax/license vs $22k-$26k for what is esentially a 'fun extra car.'

I really dont want a 20 year old unreliable car lol

Yeah though might get the Civic Si for reliability reasons. Also aparently its the go to for its class in Auto-X.

Also these are pretty tempting but cost concerns still ... https://www.carmax.com/car/20397832
