Is it wrong I’m hoping you give me an excuse to 3d scan this thing? I don’t think it needs to be metal I think I’ve got strong enough plastic for it’s job it would be just fine.

Coop
We'll see. Before I send it off to have it recovered, I will test fit it on my 92 clock spring, and then install the 99 clock spring and test fit it that way too.
I have a black 3000gt wheel on my 92, I those were 97/98 wheels? I forget which year black came in. I don't recall installing a part like this.
97-99 wheels were the same, and all black I believe.

Your wish came true. It did not work with the 99 clock spring (and I couldn’t use the 99 clock spring anyway cause the airbag wire on later models has an inline connector). So I’m gonna need one :)

Yeah. Wasn’t my wish but because of how it moved I couldn’t imagine it would work. The clock spring pushes back and has give...that’s why my spacers didn’t work.

I honestly thought about 3D scanning mine and printing them as a print would hold. Or if anything would be a file you could take and have cnc’d. I need to figure out how to use that 3d scanner.

Basically if you need my help just let me know what I can do. At very least I can take it off and measure it all out for you. At best I might be able to 3d scan/print it. Just don’t know if you wanna wait for that.

Ah newborn life

If you could scan it, Toni can print it or make it on his lathe if he’s feeling really adventurous

If I get a good scan I can print it. Printer is free. I wouldn’t advertise about it as that other guy prob put in good amount of work to make his work and I don’t want to steal from him but bawc’er is different.

It’ll be between us and BAWC! Appreciate it!

If you can’t get a good scan I’ll have you send me dimensions and I can model it in solidworks.

Let me see what I can do this week with a scan. If not I will send you exact dimensions.

After talking with people on Facebook this is a software issue. My dad has the new software, I just need to get him to let me instal it. This company is crazy about product codes and licenses. Just a lot of hoops to jumps through. So he didn’t want to do it today instead of play on the lake. I will try again when he’s drunker.

Just test fit it. It works.

We have some super strong CF plastic. I will make it out of that tomorrow and be ready to send it to you by Wednesday.

Looks like it turns out ok! Although the better scan looks like it has some artifacts still, is one of the holes partially plugged? Did you post process it before printing?

Yes. I did. Then we took the part, checked its angle, put it in the lathe, made sure it was perfect.

I can turn tricks too ;)
