Been looking at brake kits for the avalanche, no not the performance kind, the kind in amazon that sell all 4 rotors and all 4 brake pads at once.

Still can’t quite find ones that I believe are exactly what I want.

Also. Why do they sell brake pads in pairs (not one each side of the rotor but both front wheels) but sell rotors as one?

Pads need to be replaced as a set so that the friction is similar side-to-side. Rotors can usually be machined, as long as you didn’t run the pad down to metal and chew up the rotor.

Ummmm yeah, that’s past due!!! Also the other side has tons of material. So either someone did one side, or that side caliper was sticking? Never sounded like that, I let off the brakes the sound quit, immediately. So I honestly think someone did one side.

You machined rotors that went to metal?

I mean... You could if they're still above spec but why? Rotors are so cheap now.

They had never been turned. It was 55 bucks for both to get turned. Half the price of new.

Now the front that gets much more the stopping power, maybe some slotted.

Finally got to take it for a drive. No noise and braking seemed nice brake response. Cant wait to do the front but given how cold it’s suppose to get, I think I will just get the parts and wait for a nice day. I greased those slides but given it’s in the water a lot in the summer, I prob need to make it a yearly thing.

So the 07 and up brake rotors and calipers bolt right up and are bigger. Do I spend the extra money and get those? Is it worth it? Or just do some ebc pads and be done?

First long trip in the avalanche. I’ve talked a lot about gear changes. Was actually really happy that as long as I was above 70mph that no hill through the mountains I had problems maintaining speed. Now I bet that’s diff if I were pulling a car but I was pleasantly surprised.

Deff need new tires, and deff need to fix the filling up issue. But I came home a little more pleased with the avalanche as I’ve been feeling like she is underpowered. Now, I still believe that but I think it’s better than what I had in mind.

Times coming soon for summer and the truck parked at the lake for months. This tiny battery is just not up to it anymore. For one it’s tiny. For two it’s seen too many total dead situations. So I want to get get two of the same and do this dang duel battery set up.

I need the easiest wiring possible, with a switch inside the cab to override and help start when needed.

Any last suggestions before I go and pull the trigger?
