Can't just block the blade with a block of wood and twist it off with a breaker bar?
Hmmmm. Bet I can in the sides blades but mine does have 3 blades. Wonder about the middle. I will prob try this tonight. If I can get a breaker bar in my open end.

There should be some steel guides or something under there around the blades that you can wedge the block against and rotate the blade into position to be able to wrench on it.

Got the socket in. One bolt came out kind of easy, one bolt was really hard. And one bolt will not come off, this is with a 3ft breaker bar. All bolts were sitting over a week in PB blaster, the two that came off were not pooling the blaster anymore, the 3rd still had not let it soak down the threads.

Guess it’s time for some heat.

Put a pipe over the breaker bar and give it hell.

*Something* will let loose.

Last bolt off.

So....do I get high, medium, low, or mulching blades to replace?

Alright, got them sharpened.....well really don’t know what I’m doing, all I know is there was an edge when I got done and they were weighted as close as I could get them.

Cleaned up the bolts as well, got all the stuff out from the threads, got all the stuff off the surface of the bolts, and just made it so they were good again.

Reinstalled, and took off one of the belts, I did one last year, I need to do one this year.

Now I need tires. I need 24x12-12. These ones are dry rotten, leak air, and don’t hold my bank so I want to try some new ones. I’ve read some articles, found what I thought I wanted on Amazon but when looking at product pictures they seem really small. Am I missing a number in my tire size?

Went to mow, got two laps in, drive belt came off. Used the 4wheeler and wife to drag it to the house....put it back on....two more laps and it came off. Gonna get a new one tomorrow. But more worried something is happening as this belt didn’t look bad.

No label :( I just measured it and bought another today, will see if it works later today. It’s 65” but online I can’t find anything that says that’s suppose to be 65”. Guess I will find out.

Make sure whatever is used for belt tensioners on your mower are able to pivot or retract or whatever properly. Check the bearings on the pulleys too.

All pulleys turned easily by hand. New belt on and it mowed but smelled of burnt rubber. Is that suppose to happen for new belts?

What belt did you buy? It could be a bit short so it’s constantly touching a spinning pulley. What year, make, model mower is it?

64” belt because that’s the size I took off. I did have to get style than the other though.

I will get you the other info tomorrow when I’m not at work.

Find the actual specs for the belt. Someone may have thrown the wrong belt on there at some point.

You shouldn't smell rubber, and it for sure shouldn't be falling off the pulleys if the tension is correct.

Something isn't right.

This. Get me the make/model/year of lawn mower and I'll look into it. One of my better friends in the office is the research engineer for lawn/garden/outdoor power sports/etc. for aftermarket belts.
