Well the adapter worked. I officially buttoned it all back up tonight and no rubbing at all! It’s a glorious thing. Paid way to much all the way around but oh well, it’s done.

[quote=""DCIV""]I could not stop it from rubbing. Badly. So I had to spend more on this attachment to make it fit perfectly.

Hey, where did you get this adapter? I'm looking at getting a 99 wheel, and it needs this to not rub on a 1g.

It was a guy overseas. He said it was his last one. I was tempted to scan and 3d print it. Robert Olofsson is his name. It was 170 bucks shipped of that plays into your decision.

F that noise! I'll figure out a spacer on my own. About how thick do you think it was?

I tried a huge washer, then I tried two.....it doesnt do the trick. That spacer is at an angle to work. Like I said, I will be glad to take my wheel back off and take any measurements or even a 3d scan and you could print or have one made after that.
This was nice because it just fit and work. Im almost at the point that Im over Jerry rigging stuff and just want bolt on working.

Re: Steering wheel
Guess I should be more clear. The problem with a spacer only is the clock sprint moves. So the more you push down, the more it moves. This with the shaft past limits that. You will see what I’m talking about.

I have a clock spring from a 99 coming with it as well, so maybe that will make a difference? At any rate, I'll test fit with a 99 clock spring first, and if it rubs, I'll hit you up to scan yours.

Who are you?!? What have you done with Coop? Was he tied up and thrown over that cliff of a back yard?

Yeah I asked him about it this morning too.
Strange thing is, and hopefully I explain it so you can follow, I was looking at the clock spring PNs this morning as well. This is what I found. A clock spring PN from a 1992 matches one from 94-96. A 94-96 spring number matches one from 97-99. So it seems maybe a 94-96 wheel will work on a 91-93, and a 97-99 will work on a 94-96, but a 97-99 won't work on a 91-93.

Makes sense. I know jeff tried to help me with those part numbers and he seemed to come to that conclusion.
Here is what Hans is missing I believe. The diameter is different. Hence the adapter fade on the shaft part. Will it bolt on, sure.....is it gonna be everything you want it to be on such a nice car? I ended up saying no, I want it to be perfect.
I hope it works for you though. I look forward to hearing if it does.

I love thinking outside the box. I love doing things outside the box. I dont enjoy my car being down for stupid amounts of time over something that will just be Jerry rigged when done. My build on it works, took me years to do it instead of bolt on and go.
Dont get it twisted, tell me I cant do something and sit back to see what happens. But preferably not on something as connecting as the steering wheel.

Is it wrong I’m hoping you give me an excuse to 3d scan this thing? I don’t think it needs to be metal I think I’ve got strong enough plastic for it’s job it would be just fine.

I have a black 3000gt wheel on my 92, I those were 97/98 wheels? I forget which year black came in. I don't recall installing a part like this.
