Bad Obsession Motorsport : Bargain Racement

Post by Jeff V. »

They say this one won't drag on for five years because they've already filmed the whole thing

They're building a legit spec race car for less than a mid-range sim-racing setup.

It was weird watching them install a bunch of pre-made parts, but they're so enjoyable to watch, it doesn't really matter. It was a good first episode. The next one is supposed to come out next week.

Part 2

I watched them drop the front subframe and thought, ok, this is where they clean it up and paint it. But nope. This really is an el cheapo build.

The exhaust on this thing looks like a garden hose.

Meant to watch this yesterday at work but got busy.

Hopefully Tuesday is better.

Part 3

There's some good bits in here about properly installing a seat harness.

There's also some good bits with them going to the media launch for the new racing series, and driving the demo car. It's good to see them do something outside of their shop.

I also think this is the first time in 5 years that I've heard an engine run inside their shop.

Part 4.

A plastic bracket! And replacing some squishy bushy type things.

The first race is next week. :)

After 5 years of watching them in the same two shots in their shop, it's so strange seeing them anywhere else. It's also good to see Richard take center stage for a change. Who knew 68 hp could look like so much fun?

Back into the shop where Nik looks to exploit every nuance of the rule book to extract some more pace from their shopping trolley. Then off to some abysmal Welsh weather to test the changes.

Did you copy and paste the description? That didn’t sound like you.
