(Hmm, not sure how to embed video instead of link...)[/quote]

To embed, use [you tube] [/you tube] (without spaces) and copy the stuff after the last "/" in the youtube link in this case "luQiOdjcMbY". Then it will embed.

How much boost are you running. Aka what color are you wanting to see the gauge in?

Normally I'm around 25 psi for street driving. I'm thinking that I would show green for anything up to target value minus 2 psi, yellow up to 2 psi above the target, and then red anywhere above that. So Green for "no problem", Yellow for "Near/At the target", and Red for "Back off!"

I'll probably have to get bit creative on how I want to display things like WBO2, considering that the targets move around with load. I might do something unique compared to what other gauges do. Maybe have the colored areas fixed and rotate the target axis around the colors instead of changing the position of the colors - so that "good" is always at the top of the display and then when you see the needle deflect away from vertical you know you are off your targets. Not sure yet.

Hmmmmmmm...

Pulled the transmission apart to fix the grinding 3rd gear. Well, the whole inner ring of carbon in the synchro was detached from the ring. About 1/3 of it is still there, the rest I guess is part of the trans fluid I drained.

Installing a new one that I got later from Rvenge, as well as 1st and 2nd gear billet blocking rings.

Fun times...

How the heck did that happen so quick?

It happened like a year ago on the way home from the All Mitsu Cookout, but I've been too lazy and disinterested to dig into it until now. Had maybe 200 miles on that synchro at the most.

The rest of the synchros look perfect, so I guess just something wrong with that one during manufacturing. ??? I dunno.

That’s scary as you don’t hear about that with factory ones, if you can find them.

I’ve talked with other people in the know and they haven’t seen failures like that with the carbon synchros, so I put a new carbon one back in. Also put in the billet blocking rings for 1st and 2nd gear.

Let us know how those blocking rings are. When I take my trans out this winter to do the synchros (2nd is grinding on fast shifts), I’m gonna get those blocking rings at the same time.

I spent some time in the garage today and got the transmission completely reassembled and ready to mount back in the car. Maybe this week if I have time, or next weekend. I need to finish my CoP wiring for sequential ignition, which shouldn't be too bad. A couple other minor things (better IC pipe routing from the driver's side to the Y-pipe, maybe clean up some of the wiring routing and hoses). Also, my foglights don't work - I think I may have pulled a relay or fuse somewhere and lent it out to someone since I didn't need it with a FMIC, but I forgot what exactly I pulled.

I hate it when that happens. I forget all the time how some of my stuff went.
