You can buy adapters for other brands. Their fitment page is really good, except when it comes to Mazda, of all things. They basically say, Mazda changes parts so often, that all you can do is look at your specific car and try to match the cap up with one of their parts.

I'm kind of pissed though. Last night it said I'd get it by Wednesday if I ordered within 24 hours. I wanted to read a little more before I bought it. It's now ~9 hours later, and I can't get it until Saturday.

Any difference in quality between the motive and mityvac?

I think Mityvac is vacuum based, and Motive is pressure based. I've got a Harbor Freight vacuum bleeder and it just doesn't seal up against the bleed ports well enough. I always see air coming through the hose.

I hate how tiny the brake reserver is on escape. I want to just bleed the brakes on it because it’s past 100k but I know I will run out of fluid quickly.

I am gonna do the avalanche because if the fluid is dirty then I will know my lines are getting worse.

Vacuum based systems will almost always pull air around the bleeder screw threads. It's not a big deal. Just let a few drops gravity bleed out after removing the hose.

You could still use the HF kit with a pedal bleed instead of trying to use the vacuum function. That would give you a way to keep the reservoir topped off, and it would give you catch bottles. Or you could hook the compressor up and do it the way Steve said.

You know, the rocking maneuver is something kind of foreign to people here.. it is standard practice in Norway when we get stuck in snow hah. Saved my ass a few times. Way easier to do with a manual than an automatic though! I remember bringing it up to some friends in Ohio a few times and they looked at me like "HUH?".

Yeah with an auto it’s very hard depending on how much to rock.

I was driving. Obviously something I need to learn.

I had a 'small' internal panic attack though. I only could imagine having to do the 'walk of shame' back up the hill to ask one of the good old boys for help getting the stupid city slickers out of the mud. It'll be better when we learn more and have the right equipment to help ourselves.

The funny thing, I know about the rocking maneuver for snow. Been there, done that...but I have to admit my brain just froze at first and looked at Jeff and said 'now what', just because I didn't want to make anything worse by assuming anything. I just didn't equate being suck in mud to being stuck in snow.

Wow. That's surprising to hear. I noted that I thought it was probably HARDER for me to do with a manual. When we put it 4H it was a little harder to control the clutch and throttle.

Initially I was pretty excited to get the first H3 in manual, because I thought we'd have more control, but then I started learning that most off road vehicles are autos and started second guessing that.
