Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's not there.

Damn I miss my Humvee.

I might have to find a blown up motor one and put in a LS.

Noice.

Now long tubes, cai, cat back, and a tune!

Seriously though, just started messing with tuning on my 5.3 and so far it's night and day. Cai also really woke up the sound. Saving for long tubes and can't wait to get the tune set just right,

It's got a little bit of a grumble to it. So that's cool. I'm definitely going to do a catback though. I have no idea if anyone makes headers for this. I've seen a cold air box for the 5 cylinders. Dunno about the 8. LS swaps are pretty popular on the older Colorados and Canyons, so some of that should carry over to the H3. They're on a partially shared platform.

The engine and trans are strong, and all the 4WD stuff seems to engage properly. All the rare underbody parts are there, and there's over two grand worth of extras between the bumpers and rack. It has a fair amount of issues, but it's almost entirely age related. We got them down on the price a bit, so that helps.

There are only a handful of 09-10 V8s for sale nationally, and only a few of those have the off road pack with the lockers and crawler transfer case. (The front locker wasn't an option until 09) I only found one that had even some of the extras ours has, and it was $25,000. Ours was literally the cheapest one in the country by five grand.

I was just flipping through the owners book and found an instruction manual for a Superchips Cortex tuner. Veeery interesting.

Thanks to my time at GM, I know how to check and see if the tune is still in the PCM. But I've got no way to see what it actually does. Apparently there were a few different canned tunes available with these programmers.

Whenever you use forceful and overt verbal persuasion to try to convince others to see things your way, they're probably not listening to what you say, Instead they're looking for every error in you your logic and mistakes in your facts, all the while constructing counterarguments. Worse still, they don't merely believe you're wrong; they need you to be wrong in order to protect the status quo. Nice. Much better than orange imo. I hate that Atlas engine. Makes good power but real finicky.

Just go Holley. Get yourself the modern ECU with the pre-made wiring harness. Hugest headache of your swap is done and just works effortlessly.

Right now my 5.3 has a canned tune. Woke up the engine, and transmission shifts really fast/hard. But I'll be getting a custom tune probably next week. Really fine tune everything after I get a few logs in.

Not that you last one wasn’t capable but this one should really push the limits. Lockers, clearance, and that winch. It doesn’t get better than that.

Bout time to start a YouTube channel and upload some trail vids!

Jeff what all are you going to swap off orange?

Pretty much just the step boards, if they'll work with the rock rails, and the radio. We may swap tires too. We haven't decided how we're going to handle that yet. The tires on it now are super loud and the chrome has almost totally peeled off the rims.

We could have taken the orange truck wheeling too. The biggest problem is that we have NO idea what we're doing, and we were never able to meet up with the one guy Vira knows who does. We don't know what we're doing, and I don't know how to evaluate the truck to make sure it's ok for that kind of use. Then Covid hit.

All of that is still true with the silver truck.

If/when you go, please be responsible and respectful. Stay on designated trails, take out everything you bring in, and bring extra trash bags with you to pick up other trash you see.
