1/2 mile.

He is taking it all out and double checking. Has a bearing kit and everything to go through yet but initial inspection he said they look fine (gears themselves but he will redo the rest). Going to throw in the lsd this evening and see what happens.

You did good stopping that quick. Yea, have him double check and really clean it all out. All it takes is one small fragment to get impacted into a bearing or teeth.

It blew up less than about a half mile from the house. Got it home in rwd. Parked it in the driveway and rolled into the street. After that it no longer moved. Just spun. Didn't touch it until dirty came by and took a look. Put it in 4wd and went up the driveway. There it sat until loaded onto a flatbed.

Ya know... I could go all crazy with this. Pull the engine and tranny, shove them into the jeep, and drop in a 6.0 and 4l80e into the truck...

Said that it was pretty tight but seems ok. Didn't drive it that far yet. Transfer case seems good. Going to start working on the transmission stuff tomorrow.

"Pretty tight but seems ok"? Did this guy just throw the parts in there and call it good? No measurements?

What was the worry with the TC? Does the gov bomb also take out the transfer case when it lets go somehow?

Unless he means the limited slip is tight. It does need a bottle of friction modifier or it'll chatter.

The limited slip was a bit tight is what he meant. As dirty said. He said it seems ok otherwise.
