Yeah it's strange, none of his other cars have stretched tires, not sure why this one does...

I too also absolutely despise the stretched tire look. I think it is one of, if not the worst, looking "mods" that a car can have done to it.

Stretched tires look like shit. Those wheels are probably a little too big for the available space also.

The roof on mine will be similar to that, with Carbon Flash on the convertible nacelles and the roof.

Yeah hate stretched tires too, closest thing I had to stretched was on the Miata. Miata tires tend to run wide for their size though so they didn't look stretched.

I think they wheels look big too, but I wonder how much is because the sidewall of the tire can't be seen and is throwing the perspective off.

Drifters use 'stretched tires' because it gives them better control with less sidewall flex. However the extent it's been pushed towards on street cars is just for the look, and is frequently dangerous.

For sure. Her, StreetSpeed, and Cleetus are the exact demographic Chevy was targeting with the C8. I'm sure they were sick of it being "an old man's midlife crisis car".

The bit about the flywheel is interesting. I wonder if it's still a dual mass unit despite being attached to a DCT. It's possible the engine was detonating or misfiring so badly it smashed the springs inside the flywheel. Or maybe it was the engine briefly overrevving when the DCT slipped. I don't know.

Still haven't seen one in person. Really surprising around here.. Is that blue the same as the Camaro blue? I was behind a new dark blue Camaro the other day and it looked really nice.

Yup, the darker of the two blue colors is the same as the Camaro. It does look really nice, and was my first choice for colors. But my wife doesn't want another blue car.
