I'd be game to do that when the powertrain warranty is almost up anyways. They are going to need to do something to allow module swaps by non-dealers at some point or people are going to be pissed that only the dealer can fix their car (and basically charge whatever they want).
I wonder how John Deere's lawsuits have been going regarding their systems that lock out farmers from maintaining their own implements. Whatever happens in the courts there will probably bleed over to automotive.
Most of the auto manufacturers want to implement what John Deere has done too. They are lobbying to get vehicles included in the DMCA so it's illegal for anyone but their approved network to read and change parts.

Everything is too inter-connected. It won't happen. I think Rob Dahm is in for a rude awakening when he tries to get his rotary C8 working.
I doubt GM will strike a deal with anyone unless it's a canned, EPA/CARB approved tune. This whole thing started because EPA finally stopped ignoring all the wink wink nudge nudge "off road use only" bullshit. Thank you VW and coal rolling bros. That and connected vehicle intrusion protection.
Yeah Rob Dahm's is going to be very, very interesting. Sucks that everything is going that way.

I want an intake and tune honestly. Already have the 3" cat back. Intake, tune, and perhaps headers. But I am on the fence because the transmission and rear end tend to be weak points.

The no automatic safety equipment is a bonus to me...
Re: 2020 C8 Corvette Stringray
Not sure how they can ding it that much on safety. The camera rearview mirror on its own gets rid of almost all the blind-spots. I'd never rely only on the electronic safety stuff anyways - I always look before changing lanes or backing out or whatever.
A Corvette deserves to be truly driven, not sat in and looking at your cellphone or whatever distractions caused you to need the electronic safety gimmicks in the first place.
Rating fuel economy a 3 out of 10 is a farce. Show me other cars in the same category that do significantly better. They mention the NSX, at more than double the price - and it is a hybrid that squeaks out a mere 2 MPG combined more.
Their rating system needs a lot of work.
StreetSpeed717s car is one of the ones I was referring to actually. I think he said they are putting turbo blankets and wrapping the exhaust for heat control, that it just hadn't been done yet. It was on LMRs YouTube where they went more in depth about the build.
Edit: YouTube video

So here is the video with a shot of the dyno run. 667hp/670tq. Not sure what they did to "fool" the ECU as they say and LMR has not posted their video yet...

I would guess they capped the MAF sensor hz with a device, and are probably injecting a lot of methanol upstream of the valves to fill in for the missing fuel. Basically the old 3S solution - piggyback AFC and add meth.

Re: 2020 C8 Corvette Stringray
Yup, methanol. And likely something to clamp the upper end of the MAF Hz so that the ECU doesn't see all the extra airflow. Since the ECU doesn't see the extra air and fuel, I guess the transmission stays happy enough - though in their video there are a couple times when they get warnings on the dash display that acceleration is limited and to service traction control. They'll likely need to get in the ECU to fix some of that stuff.

I hope someone makes a kit that has the turbos tucked under somewhere. Mine won't have a hatch for LMR's setup to fit.

Re: 2020 C8 Corvette Stringray
I've seen a couple with the turbos mounted in place of the muffler.
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

Did many cars run very well with the piggy back and add meth? I mean, yeah some did but I feel like the vast majority never did. I would hate to have a bad as new car, bad ass turbos, and it run like shit.
