4 wheelers
Whose had one? Whose got one? What do you know about them?
My father in law has a Yamaha 400cc Kodiak from 2003. Needs a carb rebuild, I will prob just get a new one, but just like my mower hes gonna let me have it. It has a snow plow attachment. I live in a great place for them when the lake is down but never actually owned one. Only rode a couple growing up as well so I know little to nothing about them.

Re: 4 wheelers
Just got the 4 wheeler. It’s got. A need a fuel selector and a carb.
Thinking of a batter shut off as well so it doesn’t go dead. The thing will need to be cleaned up but I’m gonna love this thing.

Re: 4 wheelers
I have a CanAm Outlander 650XT that I use mostly for plowing snow in the winter, and tooling around the yard. Also a little Yamaha Badger that my son rides. I think we're going to start trail riding this year, since he just turned 12 and now can ride outside of our property if I'm with him.

Re: 4 wheelers
A part of me wants to fix and sell it for a canam, something with a dump bed and 4x4. Prob a little safer and could make street legal. But it would take a good bit of money.
Trying to find true oem parts have turned harder since “oem” seems to be a term anyone can use.

Re: 4 wheelers
Fun fact windshield wipers were first developed for use at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, so they are race car technology!
Re: 4 wheelers
Didn’t ford steal the delayed wipers and it took the guy years in court to get money?
Anyways. Ordered a carb 155 bucks. Need to take the gas tank off as it needs a petcock and there might be a metal one that works from images instead of the plastic one that has already had to be replaced.
Gonna also measure the battery. That should get it running. Then I will tackle the fluids.
This 4 wheeler has really good reviews online, they really speak highly of it.

Good movie.

Re: 4 wheelers
Took the battery out yesterday, it’s not as easy as I thought to match a new one. So many out there, and then also brand names.
Basically I’m just gonna have to take it to Walmart and get one as that’s where this one came from.

Don't overthink it. This isn't your daily driver that has to start all the time, every time.
Get an affordable battery and keep it on a trickle charger when you're not using it. Done.

I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

Re: 4 wheelers
Snow plow off, fuel selector installed, trickle charger ordered.

Edit: also the fuel selector on the one I took off was all plastic and fit in a square metal knob. The one I put on has a metal part so it will not just expand and round like the previous one. So that’s happy.
Still getting use to it. A part of me wants to sell it, and my other vr4 and buy something like a canam that I can tag and drive on the street. Problem is that will cost us money where this 4 wheeler doesn’t. Would be nice though. Basically another spare vehicle that’s a blast.

I swear I’ve seen avalanche guys drop the rear gate and pull their atv’s into the cab before.

Forums are funny now days as hardly anyone uses them and your reading 10yr old posts but it seems mixed, some fit and some dont. The father in law who gave this to me said he was looking at another brand and it was much bigger and that was the determining factor. Add that to avalanche beds are narrower than truck beds by a little and I was worried.
There are some really cool parks within an hour drive I would like to go to. Just go get some confidence in using this thing. Right now I will admit I feel like a strait noob on it. So much that selling it has crossed my mind. I feel like if I can get a little practice I might feel better about it, but it might also make my decision as well.
