Yeah she has that but the 02 has a mist function. Lift for a quick swipe.
No radio controls on hers though
I can't remember if it had that or not it was 7 or so years ago.

Ok so you’re decorating moms yard. I’ve been guilty of that a time or two growing up. Seem like a Nissan fam. Wonder why you stuck with the degenerate Mitusbishi stuff though, especially montero’s?

I gotta give credit where it's due. Montero is a solid rig.

Starter contacts died. Gonna try to find new parts instead of replacing the entire starter.

I actually would like to rebuild a starter someday. Seems straightforward enough. I’m just always in a rush when one goes out though.

Just contacts or bearings it's easy. I don't have the means to do anything with windings.
Haven't been able to find a confirmed parts pack yet so I might hit pick n pull tomorrow for one so I can tear mine down and not be screwed. Altima v6 manual uses the same starter apparently.

I took a starter apart as I wanted to powder coat it.
Yeah, not as strait forward as I would like. I put it back together and didnt powder coat any.

Yea windings or armature problems would be above my capacity but bearings and brushes should be fun.
Im sure you might know this but Mitsubishi V6 starters are totally swappable. I think I have a Vr4 starter in the max right now and a max starter in the monti. Love the interchangeability.

Well it seemed to have a lack of power. Didn't seem any faster than mom's 3.0 at the top end. Would just struggle above roughly 5k. Didn't want to break 100. It would but seemed to take longer than it should. Meanwhile her car would run hard right to fuel cut. Really wants another 500rpm.
Well I've had headers in the trunk for the last 3 weeks. Cheap Chinese junk for an 02+ Altima or 04 Maxima. They kinda fit. They were 130 bucks vs 500 for the correct ones that are known for not fitting great. Quality headers haven't been available for years.

I haven't had a chance to really get on it yet but it'll beak the front tires loose around 3k in 2nd. It didn't do that before.

I didn't make it clear. The modifications to make these headers fit was kinda stupid. Cut headers back and rebuilt y-pipe from scraps. It's ugly but functional.
Now that I've had the car for a couple months... It's an oil burner. Not that surprised. HR swap will be happening soon. I was hoping it was stuck rings but after seeing the empty cat it probably sucked ceramic into the cylinders and is fucked.

With my current mods it should make about 270whp in a 3100lb car. Not terrible for shitbox Nissan.

HR swap on the stand. Cam signal inverters came in a couple weeks ago. Trying to decide if I want to order a light fw to get rid of the dual mass and pick up a new clutch or just run with what I got. It still holds good.
Need to pick up a few gaskets to prep this thing to go in but shouldn't be too hard to get done.

09+ Maxima engine. Rated at 290. Typically makes about 300whp once tuned with the mods I have.
Oh ok. Same engine management and sensors?
I can use my existing ecu with some tweaks others that are smarter than me figured out quite some time ago.
Changed out the paper oem oil gallery gaskets for updated steel reinforced versions.

Engine coming out. Easier to work on than a 3s but harder to actually remove. Less room to got the engine and trans past everything.

Installing the helical (quaife, torsen, etc) lsd. I'll probably fuck it all up.

As a bonus it had a clutch replacement apparently right before I got it. Brand new oem flywheel too. That'll save me 800 bucks so I can apply that towards the trans after I fuck it up.

Swapped ring gears, assembled, shifts good and engages every gear properly on the bench
