Random car updates

Re: Random car updates
I’ve always wanted a 11 sec quarter mile and to look good next to other 3/s’s with 3si’ers judging them....look good, not award winning or anything. I live in the back roads and so it needs to handle.
I believe with a good tune and driving it could run high/high 11’s.

I can take a look at your logs and maps if you want. What are you tuning with now - Chrome?

Thank you. Yes chrome. I have tried to log in the past but have the wrong scale for my Wideband so it didnt make a whole lot of sense. It will be this weekend when I can finally get away and try and get a real log but I want to learn too.

I really wish that was an option. Sometime it will happen. But not in the next 10 years. Wifes finishing up her doctorate, lots of loans there, we want another kid, lots of money there....gtr is a distant dream.

GTR is in desperate need of a model refresh. Wait until that happens, then pick up a used one for less.

Re: Random car updates
Okay, so I was able to remember how to flash the ecu. That’s a plus.
That’s about the only plus.
I have an aem Wideband that maxes out at 18. Yes I know 20 seems to be the normal and maybe that’s correct but my aem gauge only shows to 18, maybe it reads to 20 and I don’t know it. So my BS logger and it are off as the scaling was to 20. I changed the scaling to 18 with a 1.6 multiplier but the gauge and the BS are still off.
So is this a blackstealth logger issue, is this an aem gauge issue, or is this a coop messing it up issue?

The AEM UEGO gauge only displays to 18.5, however the voltage of the 02 sensor actually goes to 20. Also is the rotary switch on the back set to P0 or P1?

I will check the switch. Does this mean the BS and AEM will never match?

No idea, I don't have the BS stuff. Just a UEGO gauge. But it all runs off voltage from the O2 sensor, so they should read the same if the calibration in the BS is the same.

This was my thought. They should be the same and hence why I changed it in the ecu and hence why I never logged as I figured the o2 was off. Hopefully the switch in the back of the Wideband fixed it and I move it from 0v=105v=18 back to 5v=20

Gauge is set to P0, I spend some time learning about lambda and its pretty cool and prob a lot easier to know whats going on when your on the fly.
But none of that matters as I set the gauge back to what it should be and it just annoying they read different. Im talking about the Wideband at 15 and BS at 17 or the Wideband at 14 and the BS at 16. It shouldnt be that far off and I dont know which one is right and have no idea how to figure out which one is right.

Re: Random car updates
Where is the BS logger getting its signal from?
Again no matter what you have any settings set at the UEGO gauge will never show higher than 18.5, however the output will go as high as 20. (18.5 is 4.25/5V total).

Its getting it from the ecu pin that I have the the Wideband ran into so I can log.
I understand that 18.5 is 4.25 but shouldnt they both show air fuel the same from 10-18.5 and then BS go lower? Or is the multiplier different across the entire scale then? That begs the questions which one is right as its logging what the BS sees and its WAY different than my aem. So I cant start tuning till I know.

As long as you have the Bosch sensor that AEM specifies in the manual I linked, the table in there is the calibration for the sensor.
It works out to be an equation of AFR = 2*Volt + 10.
That should be the equation used in whatever gauge/logger/etc which you have, to decipher the voltage coming from the Bosch O2 sensor.
If your gauges are reading differently, then they aren't applying the proper conversion.
