Yeah, the lines on the car are kind of a mess, especially on the back. It might grow on people though. Right now it is the only car I've got any excitement for.

Right now the only other thing being talked about outside of more bajillion dollar hypercars is the Supra. I couldn't care less about that thing.
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

I like it a lot.

I could see replacing my Stealth with a C8 one day, especially with a Twin Turbo one...

I expected GM to have a fleet of these things out cruising Woodward. I wonder if stuff like this is why they didn't?

I think what I liked about the Vette was the fact that you got supercar performance from something that didn't look like a supercar. Now that it does, it loses some of its charm to me.

Same here. The new Supra just doesn't impress. Toyota's lost their way on performance cars.

Hey, if it broke down there and he has to look under the frunk to find the problem, it couldn't be too bad of an issue haha.

I had to stop my car in Indianapolis and reboot it due to a known bug in the engine fan

I think it might grow on me.. I really did not like the C7 when it was released but it grew on me. Time will tell though.. but with Beth liking it this might be my best shot of owning one haha.

Not that you seem to be in a rush, but I'd wait until next year after 3rd party reviews are out and we have some idea about reliability. Everything on this car is new. The data system and especially the DCT really scare me right now.

Wonder if the C8 DCT has anything in common with the GT500 DCT?

We will wait until Beth's lease on her BMW is up anyway so yeah, nothing will happen now. With some real estate things coming up for us we might push this out even a little bit further.

A few years ago, Tremec's parent company bought a company called Hoerbiger for their DCT hardware and software expertise. I'd imagine their people had input on both units. Hoerbiger did work for some of the European supercars. It'll be interesting to watch.

[quote=""Jeff V.""]While I was looking up inside the scoop on the silver car, this guy comes up behind me and asks if I had any questions. He's wearing a Corvette shirt and hat, so I assumed he was just some marketing shill. I was a little short with him. Then he says 'well I designed the cooling system on the car, so let me know if there's anything you'd like to know'. My whole attitude changed and we had a nice 10 minute chat

If the cooling system can live up to the claims he was making, it'll be pretty impressive.

Hopefully it's not the same guy who decided the C7 Z06 only needed to do 2-3 hot laps before it overheated :stickpoke:

it not looking like a typical Corvette or GM product is my favorite thing about it.

this is the worst part. if it wasn't for a bunch of home buying, selling and rental property shens I'd be buying something now. by looks and reported stats alone this is a top contender. however first production runs tend to have issues and I don't want to be a guinea pig but I also don't want to wait and even more I don't want to buy something else and regret it in a year.

I am in a real pickle here.

Why is it I only like the side angle of the Vette? The front and especially the rear do not look good in pictures.

Les Stanford Chevrolet in Dearborn (about 30 min away) is having their C8 event today. I'm half tempted to go since I have nothing better to do  It's opened up so people can sit in it.

Better off keeping those bugs strangers. You really do get attached to them when you get to know them. I'd have let the engine fan eat it up.
