My wife will like a car, and I show her the exact same model in a different color and she say she doesnt like it. They dont look at what it actually is! They see color, presentation, newness.....seriously, compromise by making her not pick your vehicle.

Re: My new daily
Wife isn't like that. She is actually a bit of a car nut herself. Used to be able to rattle off facts about cars better than me.
She still knows hp, 0-60, tq, trim levels, etc of many different ones.
In the end though, she always says get what I want. I will be the one driving it.
That being said, the compromise has nothing to do with her. The Colorado had dropped off my radar before and I think it was because of comfort, but I don't remember what was uncomfortable about it. I am just saying I need to go look at one again and see why I dropped it before.
My compromise has to do with MPG and $. I am not willing to spend $300 more a month than I am right now with the upcoming pay cut. But at the same time, I will be driving more and in a car more so need something that I am comfortable in for long times, is not completely boring to drive, gets decent MPG to save money at the pump, is reliable and I can count on to get me to/from work, etc. Things I want do not fit that category. So going to have to either compromise in what I want or what I am willing to spend. I can still "live" with the Volt, but it is now out of warranty and will be expensive to fix if things go wrong since I won't have to time or patience to work on it myself. It has been pretty reliable for the most part, but it is now at the age/mileage things are going to start having problems. I know they are standard "maintenance" stuff but as stated before, I am at the point in my life with so much going on that I would rather have that stuff covered under a warranty and not worry about it.

Do what you want.
Have wife.
Pick one.
GF hates getting in and out of my car and she hates how loud it is. but over all she doesn't mind it, just not for long rides.
the motorcycle is another story. she hates it and that's why I bought it. we came home one night after playing trivia and there it was in the garage. the look on her face was priceless.

Beth doesn't mind the Ducati at all. She rides her scooter and has been on the back of mine quite a few times. But it is going up for sale - I don't enjoy riding it here in Richmond and it is just a waste of money sitting in the garage currently..

Wife doesn't have much to do with my final decision, but she does have to be comfortable in it and be able to drive it if need be.
Re: My new daily
Mine hit herself with the avalanche door today and told me she hated this thing. Know why? Because the doors swing to easily. Lol. Like seriously?
Did I mention this was while we were using it to move her stuff for her classroom? Yeah lets hate a truck when we have to move stuff.

Re: My new daily
Well swapping this out is going to be a whole lot harder decision now. Paying it off. Will be first time since 08/09 that I will be without a car payment. Going to be hard to give that up.

just save up and pay cash. that's what I'm doing with all my future car purchases.

Since I have to take the rear wheels off to check on the suspension I am debating on repainting them. I hate chrome wheels. I took off the plastidip when I was going to sell it. Might put on another coat. Haven't decided yet.

Looked up the warranty info. Thought the Voltec was out next year. It is good to 2021 or 35k more miles and emissions until the same date, but only 15k more miles.

Walking out to the car today and saw this.

Re: My new daily
It sucks, but I bet a PDR guy can take it right out.
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.
