Working on my wipers last night with my LT, he owns the AAA place in town. Really good with electrical stuff and thinking things through. I was telling him that I changed the wiper motor, switch, and fuse was good. He was not okay with any of that. He first broke out this cool tester where he touch some wires and made my motor work. Then he made me tear all my fuses with it. Well one was bad....the brake lights. Lol. Wiper fuse was good, but I didn't have brake lights! Wonder for how long.

Ever since I have owned the vehicle the rear lug nuts have been two difference sizes. This is something that I just got annoyed about but how often do you have to deal with it? So I left it alone but did have "security" lug nuts on the front and bought enough to do the rear. Finally got around to swapping those out! Woot woot.

Btw, what are you all using for coupling clamps? I have one that the worm clamp isn't cutting it and it's in the wheel well so I don't wanna have to worry about it.

Coop
Bringing this back. Was doing some pressure testing as it was giving me a little miss way down low in the RPM and have a couple small leaks around couplers. I go to tighten them and my worm clamp tread just isn't holding. So would the SS ones be better (for all I know I got these at lowes) didn't people have a problem with the other type of clamp? Anyways. What do people use and where do you order them?

I'd never use a worm clamp for boost. Go with t-bolt clamps.

I thought there was an argument against Tbolt clamps? I will see if I can go find it.

Diesel spring-tension clamps are supposed to be the new hotness. Haven't tried them myself, still using T-bolt clamps here - though I may try spring clamps.

I have some T-bolts and some worm clamps on my intercooler piping. Haven't had issues with the worm clamps up to 20lbs of boost on 13Ts, as long as they are in good condition anyway.

Finally got my second vr4 towed to the new house. They obviously can't maneuver around my house's driveway so it's dropped at the bottom and my dad and I have to tow it to my garage.

This time we will use my humvee to tow it up, and then the Yukon to help it brake while it goes into the garage. Last time we just used the Yukon and had to push the vr4 into the garage enough to get the tow vehicle behind it and then push it enough to get it rolling. It was WORK. This time it will be much easier.

You know what feels like a rocket ship?! My vr4, not really because it’s running tons of boost or even perfect. But because all I’ve driven lately is my crv and a Humvee. Like seriously my vr4 feels like a rocket ship. Took it out today (mid 60’s) to try to get some pictures of the baby wearing a 3000gt onesie and before going home I opened her up. You know the kind when you shouldn’t reach for another gear but you do! The type when you look down and say....shit. Lol. Yeah. That felt good.

Hell I felt that way when I put my Volt in Sport after driving the Jeep. Now it feels slow, but at first I was all excited about the new found speed.
Run an NGK plug in the 7 range to start and during your initial tuning - BCR7ES. If you want to crank it up beyond 17 psi or so, consider the BCR8ES to resist preignition - but you may get some fouling on the 8 in cold weather and if your tune runs rich during regular driving.
amazon and NGK site doesnt recognize these two numbers. Any suggestions?

Not sure how accurate that is, since it looks like the BCR7ES is hard to find on anything other than ebay.

Man, for something so small it’s amazing how much money you can spend. It’s just about doing it right. If I wanted I could have just swapped in my 6speed shifter.

Needed a new shifter as there is tons of play. A real short throw 160. New base solid bushings 35.
Have powder coat
Have grease
Could buy the plastic bushings for 50 more but mine were fine.

Also have the roller bushings already on the cables but those weren’t cheap.

Just lots of time cleaning and ordering parts to make things how they should be and something no one sees but you can’t drive without dealing with.

K, ordered cam lockers, and the correct spark plugs. Gonna set my cams back to advance, need an actual timing belt, still need a two bolt timing cover, and just remember need a reducer coupling for one of my intercoolers pipes.
