Also using the heated seats help when it is cold out.

Our Volt developed an oil pan gasket leak, which was fixed under warranty in a day. Chevy dealer gave us a loaner car while it was in. Other than that, still working great. Back seats are still short on legroom...

Climate control is certainly biased towards energy savings, but if you use "max" mode and manually set front defrost and foot heat with manual fan control it'll heat up better. I'm not sure if the 1st gen Volt has the same controls as the 2nd gen though.

I test drove one last week, I'm kinda on the fence about it. Seemed a bit slower than I would expect.

He's a brutal, vicious killer who kicks asses, never backs down, never registers fear, destroys everything in its path and then adorably trots off into the sunset with his prey in his teeth and the severed nutsacks of his enemies still gripped between his dagger-like claws. It's a badass animal.

Not super quick, but they are pretty decent off the line. The insta-torque is nice. Driving around in regular traffic is no problem at all.

Sport Mode is decent. You will accelerate faster than most other people on the road.

I am really debating on tinting the windows and platidipping the wheels and some of the chrome accents black.

Something like this:

Yep, I have always driven in L mode based on what I had read on the volt forums. It helps a lot, but is best in slow steady traffic. It dosen’t help much in my crazy commute. Now that the weather is warming up I can see my battery doing a lot better. I am also playing with the heat settings to get more life.

I have some matte black wheels for my snow tires (another reason for my poor mileage) and it looks really sharp with the white paint. I'll post a picture if I have a few minutes later this week.

I also want to get my windows tinted at least to a medium level, but I've never had it done and have no idea where to go or what is a reasonable price.

I think Vira paid $175 to get my Focus done. (Birthday gift) A Volt should be a similar amount of work. Maybe 200-ish?

Around here if they have to take off tint they charge as much to put on.

I had my crv done and it cost me 120 bucks but there was no tint. Would cost me 200 on the vr4 as it's got old nasty purple tint.

Made it to the gym and back yesterday all on electric. Had the A/C set at 72* and in ECO mode. Drove mostly in L on down hill segments and in stop/go traffic. Still had about 1 mile left of electric by the time I got home.

Since buying it I have now averaged 110 mpg. The 77 you see in the image is a combo of me and the previous owner.

Damn. That's really good. I wish the Fusion hybrid got better electric mileage. I think that'd be the sweet spot between the Volt and a lower end Model S.

With the Fusion Plugin (which is what the volt is, don't argue otherwise :P ) I was able to get up to 154 mpg, scrubs.

Get on my level.

Also always drive in L.

What was the all-electric range on the Fooozion ? How far would it go before the spinny lump under the hood kicked on?

I average 110 with freeway driving (70+ mph and a/c or heat on). If I did only city I would probably be closer to 200 average.

Also, winter driving takes a lot of electric with the heater going.

30 miles, give or take 5 or so. Next one should go ~50, which would be more than enough for me.

I'd be invincible! Ahh those were the days.

What was the MPG on gas only? If I run only on gas and no electric at all I get around 40 mpg. Problem is I have to drive conservative to get that 44 mile range. Typically it is only about 38-40 miles in the summer with 50/50 city/highway and my gym is 44-54 miles round trip depending on what route I take. So I ALWAYS have to use gas. That trip above is the first time I ever made it without using gas.

It was funny to see you roll up at Steve's and start unrolling cords before you'd even said hi
