2nd episode wasn't great, but it wasn't awful. They can't be Top Gear any more. It's going to take them a little while to find a groove again.

I loved the review of the Vulcan. Like wow. Then they just drug out the next thing too long. I didn't like it at all. I would rather they review cars, even if they are Honda civics.

I enjoyed the second episode. The Jordan thing may have been a bit long, but I still enjoyed it.

This isn't what made Top Gear huge. They usually reviewed 1-2 cars per episode, did the news, a celebrity guest, and then some sort of adventure. I'm not sure how this was much different than that, minus the celebrity guest. :d ontknow:

I watched top gear, just not regularly. I was hoping it would be a little different.

I agree with some of the reviews I've read. #3 should have been the first one. It was really good.

I liked #3 for the most part. There are still some things I could do without, but we will see how things change as we go on.

The celebrity thing is still annoying as hell. If they can't do an interview segment then they need to just stop. At least this episode didn't have any Mike Skinner.

Episode 4 was really good. By far the best one yet. Nothing about it annoyed me this time. Even the American and the Celebrity thing wasn't as bad to me. I haven't laughed that hard at a TV show in a awhile.

Yeah, the celebrity thing can go now. I just watched through ep. 5. It's pretty entertaining, but the army recon mission thing they did got old pretty fast. So did the renewable car episode. All in all, it's an entertaining enough romp with usually at least a few cool cars.

This last one, with the Fords and the GT40 bit, was really good. Even their Christmas gift segment was good. They're getting there.

They'll probably nail down the new format just in time to decide to retire. In an interview, May was talking about how him and Clarkson are getting old, and they're not in the best of shape. He didn't think it was likely they'd go past their initial deal with Amazon. I think it's 5 years.

Yeah, I've not watched episode 6 yet. Probably later this week I'll carve out an hour of time for it.

I didn't watch top gear very often, so I don't really have a frame of reference.

I think this two part special coming up will help me determine how I feel about it overall. I still am not 100% sold on it yet. They have good and bad parts. Been getting better though as it goes on.

Yes, I watched it last night. It was very enjoyable.

Of the four feature cars, I'd take the GT40 over the Ferrari (the GT has always been a favorite of mine). I'd also take the Focus over the Mustang.

I've just never been into Ferraris. Any year of GT would be a no brainer for me.

I really, really wanted a Focus RS. I was debating pretty hard on buying the Audi, or waiting for final details on the RS. I'm glad it didn't wait. It's kind of like the GTR. It's an amazing car for the price, but it's so goddamn ugly. Even the color pallet sucks. The Focus ST looks better, and has much better color choices.

If it had looked like this, with this blue or a wild green, I'd be looking at buying one.

This one is good too.

I like it, but my taste in cars is a little off.

If there was at least an aftermarket mesh grille along the lines of the RS style grille I have for my Audi, I think it'd be a massive improvement. The Focus ST was perfect. I understand the RS has significantly different cooling needs, but there's got to be an alternative to that fugly gray crash beam cover.

Ya. I would take the Mustang any day over the RS or ST.

I have really enjoyed the last few episodes, including the 2 part special. I think they are just starting to hit their stride.

Also agree the celebrity thing needs to go. They need to start interviewing celebrities. I'm sure they can interview them with out violating any agreements, as long as they don't put them in a car and have them drive against each other.

The crash beam cover is the worst part of the front end by far. I don't understand why they couldn't hide it behind the grill like they did on the ST. I mean I have a crash beam cover, but it is hidden behind the grill.
