Picked up a rare subaru today...

Post by tabasco122 »

03 WRX. Bone stock aside from the CF hood.

204k miles.

New Clutch, timing belt, thermostat, water pump, tires, steelies, etc.

Probably needs a turbo soon. Has a good bit of rust, none that I could see on the floor pan though. Underside of the rocker panels are gone, its just hollow there. One dent, body is pretty damn straight otherwise, which is why its annoying that the previous previous owner decided to coat the whole thing in rhinoliner.

anyway, heres the pics.

Paid $800, came with a stock wrx wheel he was using as a full sized spare.

Plans are to strip the rhinoliner, cheap paint job, address some of the rust, then idk. Victoria may want to keep it, i may see what i can get in trade, no idea. I have access to a lift and a welder, so me and my friend can fix the rockers. None of it will be visible once the sideskirts are installed. Maybe cut the rust from the arches and put cheap flares on, idk. For $800, it wasnt something i could really pass up.

Not bad. I'd have thought it was worth that much even if it wasn't running.

All I meant is that I'd think it's $800 worth of usable parts. Running or not.

Whatever the case, I think getting any running, non-wrecked car for $800 is a good deal.

Yea. It's just a matter of what you want or need to do with it. Typically a running car for cheap needs more work than economically responsible to do to it. They usually end up as parts cars. If this one needs little work, then awesome. They just have crap resale with that kind of mileage unless it's all fuck boi'd out.

Found an sti turbo for $75 pulled from a car in the recent flooding lol. Just going to keep it as a cheap spare, I think this one is on its way out.

Got a chance to really look it over. Lots of the metal in the engine bay has surface rust/corrosion. I mean it runs perfectly aside from it being slow as shit, but i feel like if i have to touch anything im going to have a bad time and end up breaking some shit.

Put some snow tires on it and use it for winter. Don't go racing it as then you will go into fixing it.
