I'd like to, but unfortunately my budget does not allow for it :(

Too many trips planned out west ;)

If it looks like it will be anything like last year, I'm going to go to Carlisle instead. Last year was beat. They are organizing it way too late and people just aren't showing up anymore.

That's what I was afraid of. Honestly, Ocean City was one of the better events I've been to :(

The last couple years I've gone i haven't had as much fun..none of the old crew really shows up ('cept for hans :p ) and there's a lot of new faces in their own cliques that I don't know. Last year was the worst, i felt completely out of place. Fortunately elton was there to hang out with =)

But chances are, i'm not going this year..i have 2 master's finals that week and for the first time, i'm actually going to put school ahead of ECG :(

I finally started a thread, and getting things going...that's when Eric kind of woke up, I guess! Because Krissy and I had decided to step in, if they were going to drop the ball. Too many people are depending on it, to just let it go.

It takes months of planning, to pull it off smoothly. I had wanted to make some changes, do a few things differently...but as long as he's willing to organize it, I'll continue to stay out of it unless asked. I'd wanted to address some of the reasons some people don't come anymore, and make a few changes to accommodate that, in hopes of increasing attendance again.

It will be fun, it always is. But I agree, the cliquishness is out of hand. I always feel like an outsider, but that's ok. I'm there for the cars.

We always go with our little "clique", but we always welcome in new people as long as they don't act like ass hats. I've gone down with the same group of guys for about 4-5 years now, so that's expected. This would be my 7th ECG if I go this year. I've never missed a year, but I'm really thinking about doing something different.

Unless something comes up with work, I'll be there. OC is so close to my new place, I probably won't be getting a hotel.

Thousands of people show up to Carlisle. It's a better business opportunity then going to ECG and seeing what? 55 cars haha.

Which is probably 11 times as many 3/S cars than will be at Carlisle...being optimistic of course! :)
I would go if it wasn't so far away.
:violin: New Hampshire is approximately 550 miles to the eastern shore of Maryland. About a 10 hour drive. BFD. Especially when you hook up with a caravan...it would go too quickly! (Literally, most likely).

NG was roughly 750 miles from my house...about a 12-1/2 hour drive. Not including all the hellbent highway cruising I did on the Detroit Autobahn, and up and down Telegraph Road, 8 Mile Road, 9 Miles Road, and so on, just for the fun of it. Had to visit the Chrysler Museum while I was up that way!

BRG was about 650 miles, each way, about 11-1/2 hours. Again, well worth it.

In June I plan to drive from Maryland to Castine, Maine, which will be roughly 700 miles, each way, plus all the side trips I make just for the fun of it...then if I can afford it, the following week I'm tentatively planning to go to BRG...650 miles further south. Then back.

And maybe...if I can afford it...and nothing's broke, including me, to NG '07 the following month...another 750 to 800 miles each way, plus all the side trips in and around Detroit...have to go see the car museums and historical car stuff.

Then in October, I definitely plan to make it to the Quickening. If nothing's broke.

So 550 miles? Hook up with a caravan and come on down. I wish I had a caravan to cruise with...I always roll alone.

You could always trailer it. :spider: :heehee:

I've been around 3/s's long enough to not really care to see more. When it's your job, you look forward to seeing something else. ECG makes me feel like I'm still at work... hardly a vacation.
